Serviio gets 'lost'

Hi Folks,

Any ideas here. I have the latest version running on XP, with 2 devices, Samsung blue ray and Oppo blue ray.

Serviio gets 'lost', the consul shows both devices attached, the server is running but neither device finds serviio. I know the basics are OK because the Samsung finds the samsung dnla, and the oppo finds oshare.

If I exit serviio and restart it, all is well for a while (few hours at least), then it gets 'lost again'.

Any ideas ? Thanks

Is the server going to sleep at any stage?

Excuse my ignorance, not sure if I understand, if by server you mean the PC, then no, or do you mean the software ?

Yes, in this case the server = PC. Bugger, thought this may have been the issue. I think you will need to run a detailed log to see if that highlights what is happening. Also if you are able, look in your windows system event viewer to see if it sheds any light on what is happening (look for services or interfaces that shutdown or restart).

You could try a different Java version.

Re: Serviio gets 'lost'

Uninstall your current Java version and then go here to download the latest one for your OS: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Thanks, I turned on detailed logging a few days ago, and so far the problem refuses to appear ! I will hold off updating Java till the problem happens and see if anything appears in the log.

Re: Serviio gets 'lost'

It sounds a little like an issue i had ... My TV wouldn't see serviio no matter what, the trick seemed to be, to disable UPNP in my router
