CAnt access media browser, serviio hosted on synology

Hi

I have recently installed servio on my synology 212j running dsm 4.2

It all works perfectly wihin my local network. I am now trying to access externally and am running it to a few issues.

1) when i try and connect to the mediabrowser i am presented witha password box, i updated to serviio pro and this enabled the remote part on my console management screen, i entered a password and clicked save, restarted serviio and i always get a password not crrect error. Firebug shows a server 500 error on the login POST action and the serviio log gives this error

[ServiioStatusService] InternalError occured. Returning error code 500 to the REST layer. Message: null

This is causing me to then not be able to login and stream remotely.

2) i cant work out how to stream via VLC, any ideas on what i put for the url? or would i need to get this from the browser?

well scrap that. I had to update java. and this seems to have fixed it
