No Items To Display - Sony Bravia KDL-32CX523

Hi,

I am a new Serviio user and am having trouble getting my TV (Sony Bravia KDL-32CX523) to see files within the folders that Serviio is set to include.

I cannot get Audio, Image or Video files to display on my TV, it simply says "There are no items to display". However it can see the folders that I have told Serviio to include in the library and these are updated if I change these.

DLNA streaming via Windows Media Server works fine with these folders and files. The only reason I have decided to use a different service is that the TV struggles to play a large number of my AVI files and I am hoping Serviio will resolve this.

I have tried:
- ensuring Serviio is set to the Sony Bravia TV (2011) profile
- giving 'everyone' on my local network 'read' access under sharing for the relevant folders
- ensuring Serviio & the Serviio Service are allowed through my firewall
- running Serviio as an administrator

Would be most grateful for any help!

The folders and files are in a different location to you Serviio install? E.g on a NAS or other computer?

If your seeing the folders listed on your tv that you told Serviio to share it sounds like a permissions issue.

What's the problem with the AVI files? On 2011 Sony AVI made with transcode don't play, any other encoder works fine.

They're all on the same computer albeit on different partitions, but I don't believe that's an issue. I've double checked the permissions and all users have all control permissions, so I can't see any problems there.

Having downloaded MediaInfo it seems that the problem files are indeed made with Transcode. I find this to be the case with the majority of my AVI's, or at least half.

Would Serviio allow me to get round this problem?

Many thanks for your help.

AVis made with trasncode would be listed still but you'd have to tweak the profile so AVI are transcoded to mpeg2 on the fly to avoid playback failure.

Ok great, I can work out how to do that by having a browse if the forums I'm sure.

So that brings me back to the original issue which I haven't managed to solve yet.

Hmm well that should all work of course. Do the folders or files have non English characters in them ?

You've seen this message in your log "2013-04-28 02:05:29,939 WARN [LibraryAdditionsCheckerThread] Folder 'D:\LucData\Pictures\Best Photos' is either not an existing directory or cannot be read due to access rights"

Are you sure you have the permissions for your folders ?
