A series not recognized

I have the DVDs for several of the Woodwright's Shop and am ripping them for personal use.

But even thought I have them in a directory named appropriately, serviio still isn't recognizing them as a series.

How can I make this happen on my site? The series is named the same on imdb.com ... The name I am using is
The Woodwright's Shop.SnnEnn.Episode Name.m4v

This site is NOT shared over the internet, and just used 'in house' for personal convenience.

See my post here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10626&p=70544#p70544

In your case the apostrophe in the file name could also be causing an issue - try it without.

Re: A series not recognized

I did try without the apostrophe, but that is not recognized either (basically a 'stub' for the non-apostrophe version) is there.

Serviio associates with the non-apostrophe version, but there is no data there in thetvdb.com ... bummer. The correct data is in the same title with an apostrophe ( "The Woodwright's Shop" ).

Re: A series not recognized

As DenyAll said in his linked post, naming can really be an issue for correct recognition. I was having all kinds of trouble myself before I started using FileBot. (www.filebot.org) It will name the file exactly as the online database expects, and curing 99% of my issues. I only have one TV series that won't get data, and that is Adam-12. It seems the dash causes an issue in the Serviio scripting. Zip is aware of it and will make changes if possible (and necessary). Frankly, I can afford to have one give me grief if everything else works so well.

Using its default settings FileBot would rename your files like this: "The Woodwright's Shop S01E01 Maul & Glut.mp4". (I'm not sure about the ampersand, though. I don't have any with one). I have TV episodes with apostrophes and have no issues with thetvdb.com.

What I did was create a playlist with these files and that allows me to play them with no issues. Playlists seems to always show the files, even without matching metadata.
