Is the "Read Me" SONY Bravia Firmware list correct?

I ask because I'm having problems convincing my TV that Serviio really is running!
Floundering around for a reason led me to check the firmware for my KDL-40NX803.
I found it under "Sony Bravia 2010 series" in the second batch of model numbers proclaiming :-
"The following list of devices use the same firmware PKG4.114EUL-0108 (01/10/2012)"

Mine was running:- firmware ver:-PKG4.107EUH-0108 when I last checked.
...around September 2011
It's since aparently updated its self and is currently running:- firmware ver:-PKG4.114EUH-0108

This is at odds with your stated firmware, and following the link embeded in the Firmware Number, the SONY Site does not list my TV Model No against this firmware.

If you can clear that up, I can progress to asking about the reason my TV can't see Serviio, and the implications of upgrading the version to the current itteration!

Re: Is the "Read Me" SONY Bravia Firmware list correct?

Thanks for that, I don't mean to be pedantic, so no need to update the ReadMe on my account! :)
My only concern was if my set was running the latest firmware.
Seeing that the stated version for my model (KDL-40NX803) was different made me think perhaps I was missing out on some later added "goodies" from SONY...........lord knows that model had precious few added extras!

OK, to my problem: I can't convince my TV that Serviio is running.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the dratted "Java" might be the culprit.
Could that be right?
If so how can I re-introduce Serviio to my current installation of Java? :?

Re: Is the "Read Me" SONY Bravia Firmware list correct?

What is your OS ? windows, linux , mac...
Could you enable detailed logging and post serviio.log here ?

- Open serviio console, clean the device list with remove button.
- Save
- Stop serviio service or shutdown PC
On TV
- Open network menu - server diagnostic, clean the server list.
Then
- Restart serviio service or start your PC
- Check on serviio console if your device appears
- Check on Sony if serviio logo appears.

Re: Is the "Read Me" SONY Bravia Firmware list correct?

Hi Illico,
Sorry I didn't mention my OS, it's Vista.
I've followed instructions to enable debugging and behold! TV can now see Serviio! :o
Tried to copy and paste serviio.log, but was warned my post was close to 500,000 characters!
How can I post it for you to check?

Since my TV can now "see" Serviio, do I need to follow the rest of your posted instructions?

Thanks, I will!
Don't know what has made it work, but I'm grateful!

Should I somehow stop the detailed logging? :?

Ah! I see it now, set log4j.xml back to "INFO".....yes?

Yes

Thanks! working flawlessly again.

Just a little lateral thinking....DLNA/SONY Smart(ish) TV/New toy...Galaxy S3 i9305.
This phone is supposed to be able to share it's photos/music/videos with the TV.
Photos and music, yes but any attempt to show vids on the TV fails with some inscruitable message!
Tried "bubbleupnp" app also failed.
Can you help me?
...Please! :(

Do you see the Phone IP address on serviio console device list ?
If you want to use your phone as control point, you have to set the "Sony Bravia " profile on serviio console for your phone device.

If you want to share phone's photos/music/etc with your TV, Phone become the upnp/DLNA server...I could not help you here.

Re: Is the "Read Me" SONY Bravia Firmware list correct?

Thanks Illico, The message I get when "forwarding" the now playing video from the phone says "!CHANGE PLAYER"
Player is not available. Check the network status and connected device.
doing the same with Music or photos works just fine.
The bubbleupnp App fails in the same way but says Action set AV Transport URI failed code : 714
It does however act as a control point, calling up files from my PC to play on the TV...I suspect via Serviio.
I guess it's just another think this "smart" TV can't do!
Thanks for trying. :)

Illico wrote:Do you see the phone device on serviio console ? What is the profile selected for the phone ?

There are 4 items listed on the console:
* 192.168.1.64 KDL-40NX803 SONY Bravia TV (2010)
* 192.168.1.65 Windows Media Player Generic DLNA Profile > The Host PC <
* 192.168.1.66 Unrecognised device Generic DLNA Profile
* 192.168.1.68 BubbleUPnP Media Renderer Generic DLNA Profile > My Galaxy S3 <

It can't see my iPad (192.168.1.67) or my linux PC (192.168.1.69) or my XP lappy (192.168.1.70)
All my wireless devices are on fixed IP addresses.
I've just been running round the house firing up everything so that I could identify it all!
Documented it here as much for my own benefit as anything!

Absolutely no idea what the "Unrecognised device" at 192.168.1.66, could be, I just don't have any more connected devices.

It surprises me that my phone shows as "BubbleUPnP", and not in it's own right.
hope this gives you a clear picture of my network!

Could you try to select " Sony Bravia 2010" profile for BubbleUpnP/Galaxy device ? Save, then retry control access point with your Phone.

Yes, that option is available, but I really don't know what "Control Access point" means.
I have an idea that it means using the phone almost like a remote control to play my PC's content on the TV....which Serviio already does.

The phone has the built in ability to show media files from it's library on the TV screen/speakers by simply touching an icon on the screen whilst they were being played on the phone.
This works fine for music and photos but not video files.

Someone suggested BubbleUPnP would overcome that but though it to played the phone's music and photo files to the TV, video files again failed.
messing blindly with Bubble's settings, I suddenly found that I could access all my shared Media files on my PC from the phone, and select which of them to play to the TV.... one or two of them would also play on my phone...is that "control access point"?
Hmm..I've altered the profile of the phone as you advised and it does just act as a remote control playing the PC's files via Serviio to the TV. :(
