Client Bridge - Serviio not visable

My setup is a DD-WRT router with a 2x PC wired plus multiple media devices. All devices can see both versions of Serviio and work perfectly.

I've added a tv wired connect to a DDWRT router in client bridge mode. The tv is connected to the network and internet, iPlayer works fine, web browsing etc.. all works so the wifi bridge works. I can access both routers from my PC so the DNS appears to be working.... However the tv cannot see either versions of Serviio (or Plex for that matter). I've followed the guide on DD-WRT exactly for the config of router 2.

The basic config is as follows:
Router 1 = 192.168.1.1, Subnet 255.255.255.0 with DHCP ON, firmware 21286
Router 2 = 192.168.1.2, Subnet 255.255.255.0 with DHCP OFF, firmware 21286
Both routers had the 30/30/30 treatment prior to flashing so are clean.

The TV picks up the network fine, it reports its DNS server and gateway as 192.168.1.1 as expected.

Serviio on both PC has its IP bound and works before the client bridge. I'm struggling to think what else to check or change so that Serviio works, given that the internet and other services do work.

Its been a while since I did any of this type of networking but I believe the problem is that when you insert a bridge you can create two broadcast domains. The bridge in certain configurations will try an limit broadcast traffic from traversing it - this then effects both multicasting and SSDP discovery, both of which DLNA rely on.

While this gem of wisdom doesn't solve your issue it may hopefully help you research your problem. Search for terms like broadcast domain, udp traversal across a bridge, ssdp traversal across a bridge. In addition, I found one method that deals with the issue by going to a "repeater bridge" mode: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=597391 but it looks like this knocks out your wireless (which you're not using so may be suitable?).

I've read a few posts on dd-wrt forums about mulitcasting and client bridging so figured that was the issue.

I've setup a repeater bridge, its a fix by making a working around. Given its simple I'm going to stick with it rather than try to figure anything else out.

So in simple terms its a client bridge as it was, I've added a virtual Wifi interface on the 2nd router using a different SSID. I'll connect the laptop to the 2nd routers wifi than runs Serviio so the tv can see it. It works, bit fugly I guess but the other options are getting a bit too complicated.
