My laptop only has one adapter, I believe.

> 192.168.1.6 (does this addess mean anything to you?)

It does not.

> Can you, from a cmd prompt, run IPCONFIG /ALL.

I'm attaching a text file with the results.

> Also, how are you assigning your PC's IP address?

On my router, it's using a dynamic IP, and my television is in automatic IP mode.

> I suggest you turn off both devices first, start one first, wait five minutes and then start the other one.

Just tried that...

> Although not a requirement for Serviio, I'd recommend setting reserved IP addresses for your Serviio server, at the very minimum, and also for each TV/renderer.

Sorry, I don't really understand how to do this. I'm attaching a screen shot of that screen...

Thanks.

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

The IP address of your Serviio server is 192.168.1.6 according to the IPCONFIG command.

To reserve addresses in your router, in that router screen, press the Add button in the bottom section. You can then select any connected (and switched on) device and assign a new IP address for it (must be 192.168.1.xxx). This address will then be used every time for that device (at the moment a different one can be assigned each time).

For example, you could set your server to be 192.168.1.101 as you originally thought it was (and set your TVs at the same time). You need then to restart your tv and server for the new IPs to be assigned. Check with IPCONFIG, and once done bind Servio to the address using the one of the methods in my post above.

I'm probably being a moron about this, but 192.168.1.6 appears to already be assigned to my laptop (user-PC). Please see attached.

It's hard to tell where you're at but if its the screen I think it is these are yet to be reserved. Select one by checking the checkbox on the left and then enter the IP you want in the area below what you have shown.

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

You are correct as to where I am in my router and what I can do, but I'm still a bit lost.

I can Add (reserve) any of the devices listed in my previous post's screen shot. I assume adding Serviio means adding my laptop (user-PC), and adding my tv means I should reserve COM-MID1. Can they be reserved under their current IP's that are listed - 192.168.1.6 and 192.168.1.8 respectively? Or do these need to be changed when reserving?

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

Yes to all of the above :-)
You can reserve to whatever addresses you want (as long as they are not in use by another device), either the existing address or a new one. Point being once reserved, it will never change (presently they may change over time, after power failures, etc). Once set, bind Serviio to the server's (user-PC) IP address rather than to Automatic, and see if that helps the discovery process.

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

K, so here's a screen shot of the two reserved IP addresses, but now my only option in Serviio's Bound IP dropdown is "Automatically detected".

How is this even possible!!

Thanks.

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

Reset all three devices. When I reload my laptop, it reverts back to Automatically detected, even though I saved it. I then switched it back, but to no avail.

Here's another screen shot of that page.

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

In your renderers list wherever you see the same IP address two or more times remove all of them, save and do a refresh. Your server, now on 192.168.1.6 should be found again - leave it as a generic profile.

Now that you have set your server address to 192.168.1.6 (and the TV to 192.168.1.8) did you remember to edit the ServiioService.exe.vmoptions file to reflect this address:

-Dserviio.boundAddr=192.168.1.6

Once done, restart Serviio - does the TV detected Serviio any better?

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

I think we're getting closer. Serviio now shows up on my tv's DLNA server screen - something it hasn't done in a few days. And my Status Page looks like the attached screen shot. Having said that, when I click on Serviio on the television, it says 'accessing', but then comes back as connection to server failed.

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

Do you have a firewall in between the TV and the Serviio laptop (e.g. on the laptop itself).
Try disabling it and check again.
I don't remember if you are on wired or wireless. If on wireless, try the wired option in case that is feasible.

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

I turned the Firewalls off, and while I can see Serviio on my tv, all folders on there show up as empty.

I think I'm done with this. I just went ahead and bought a Roku device on Amazon, and I'll use Plex with it. Hopefully that solves my issues.

Thanks so much to all of you who spent time trying to help.

Re: No Connectivity on VIERA TC-P55ST50

You need to enable the checkboxes for Video, Audio, etc. in the Library tab for each folder that you would like to be made available to the TV.

I hope you have done that.
