Serviio ignoring nfo files

Howdy,
I have been playing around with trying to fix some of the discrepancies in the metadata for my files, and I am having an issue. It was my understanding that one could use an .nfo file to provide metadata. Do .nfo files only work when that option is chosen in the metadata tab of the console i.e. if I want to use an nfo file I must have one for every file in my library? I have sets of movies that are unlikely to be in any database (e.g. extreme sports videos, exercise videos broken up into workouts, etc.), and I am looking for the easiest way to provide my own metadata for these. Any suggestions outside of trying to get the nfo files to work would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Serviio ignoring nfo files

Yes, you can only choose one option for metadata. Online will of course provide the vast majority of the necessary data, but there are always a file here and there that you would prefer to provide your own info. Serviio will not use the nfo files unless that option is your choice, and then you won't get any online info. Perhaps some future version will allow both at the same time, but not currently.
