running serviio w/o mac/pc

How can i run serviio via hard drive connected to router (home network)? Do I always need a mac/pc running? Want to stream movies and music to samsung un60f8000 and another tv with apple tv. Computers can see the file on network hard drive but not tv. for the samsung serviio works through macbook air and for the apple tv, I read in the forum i need to get aTV Flash from fire core.com for the apple tv. Is this true and the only way? Would like to stream without having a mac on. Thanks
