Seviio Remote access with WHS 2011

Hi,

I have set up serviio 1.3.1 with WHS 2011. I also set up remote access to that but i am not able to use customize external address to get to serviio. I am able to use my ip. How can set up external site for my remote browser. I have WHS so any external DDNS address i use it end up on my home server page. i have tried port forwarding but i only end up with my server log in page. i am not able to get to other external site.

Please help.

Re: Seviio Remote access with WHS 2011

Same set up I have been using for quite some time.

On your router forward the external port range 23423 to 23424 (TCP/UDP) to the internal IP of the WHS 2011 Server.

In your browser enter the following string. http://[your name].homeserver.com:23424/mediabrowser/#

Should connect remotely to the serviio media browser. I use IE9 and Chrome.

As a note I also use dynDNS and have a secondary web address registered for the WHS 2011 Server. Using that address the web link is http://[dynDNS registered name]:23424/mediabrowser/#.
You can resolve multiple external names to the same IP. If you are using https (SSL) you may encounter certificate warnings, but you will be given the option to proceed to the site anyway.

Hope this helps.
