Is it possible to use Serviio with no internet ?

Hello, this is my first post so sorry if its not in the correct place, if needed, please move it =D
So my problem is the next one: I have a Samsung Smart TV, model UN46ES7100, and im trying to stream movies to it using serviio, but any file i play on it, lags, even a simple 424x312 mp4 file, its plays fine for like 10 seconds and then it stops and says "loading".
Now, the TV is not mine technically, its on the school, but i can use freely, the internet has a speed of 300 kbps download and it still lags a lot with any video i try to play.
Is there any way where i dont have to use internet to stream a video using serviio ? Like, using the network itself ?
My laptop (from where i am streaming) and the TV are connected to the same Internet AP, so it can even see my Samsung Link and WMP server. I can connect the Laptop to the Soft AP created by the TV, but it then doesn't detect Serviio. Any help will be appreciated.

You don't need internet - you just need a LAN and the TV and the server on the same LAN.

The why is that when i try to stream a movie it lags from time to time ? Is it because of the router ? I mean, the router i use is the same used by everyone, so i dont have that much choice. And then again, if i disconnect my pc from that network and connect it, say, to the Soft AP created by the TV, it doesnt detect the serviio Server. I even tried using my phone has the modem and it didnt worked.

It could be poor WiFi connection, not enough bandwidth. Or serviio is transcoding for the tv and the cpu can't keep up.

Actually it doesnt work. I lost my internet connection today and Serviio was gone. only came back when internet connection was on again. ALL SHARE was working fine but not Serviio.

Something wrong with your setup then as serviio works fine with no internet
