Have a mac [g5 quad core] video files are on an internal hard drive, operating system is on another, when trying to assign folder for serviio only the system hard drive shows as available, not the drive with the video files.
Re: Hard drive not recognised
You have to use an UNC path. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Path_%28co ... Convention
Re: Hard drive not recognised
That's windows, have a mac.

A UNC path should work for both.

Re: Hard drive not recognised
You have to map the drive in order for Serviio to recognize it. If you want it to stay mapped you need to put it in your login items. Then in Serviio you can look in the volumes section and your drive should be there. What version of OSX are you running?
Re: Hard drive not recognised
Running 10.7.5. how do I 'Map' drive.
Re: Hard drive not recognised
Is the drive with the video files located on a network drive or a USB attached drive? If they are attached via USB go to add local and then select Volumes and your drive should be in there. If they are located on a network drive let me know and I will type something up.
Re: Hard drive not recognised
See OP , drive is internal [G5 mac osx7.5.5]. Operating system on one drive, movies etc on the other, only system drive is visible in Serviio.
Also have usb drive on my PC but that was 'seen' by serviio without problem.

I have no experience with a Mac, although I do have Unix/Linux experience. I don't believe a Mac uses drive letters/mappings. In the *nix OSs, they have mount points, that to the OS and applications just look like another folder.
I'm wondering if there's a permissions issue with the 2nd drive mounting?

Re: Hard drive not recognised
I think I set path correctly, can now 'see' the folder on TV etc but not able to access.
Re: Hard drive not recognised
I can 'see' folder from the mac but cannot open, on my smart TV. Can also see pc based serviio and allshare and these can be accessed.
While my older 50inch plasma [samsung] only see's the pc based serviio and allshare, no sign on the mac based Serviio.
