Pan-device issue with streaming M3U and FFMPEG.

Symptoms: with both my Sony Blu-Ray (below) and Samsung UN46C7000WFXZA, the device freezes and needs to be shut down in the hold-down-the-power-button-until-shit-dies fashion.

Debug:

  Code:

My issue looks similar to this:
https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/3101

  Code:
user@server:~$ ffmpeg -version
ffmpeg version 0.10.9-7:0.10.9-1~lucid1
built on Oct  4 2013 06:37:41 with gcc 4.4.3
configuration: --arch=amd64 --disable-stripping --enable-pthreads --enable-runtime-cpudetect --extra-version='7:0.10.9-1~lucid1' --libdir=/usr/lib --prefix=/usr --enable-bzlib --enable-libdc1394 --enable-libfreetype --enable-frei0r --enable-gnutls --enable-libgsm --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-libpulse --enable-libschroedinger --enable-libspeex --enable-libtheora --enable-vdpau --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvpx --enable-zlib --enable-gpl --enable-postproc --enable-libcdio --enable-x11grab --enable-libx264 --shlibdir=/usr/lib --enable-shared --disable-static

libswresample   0.  6.100 /  0.  6.100
libpostproc    52.  0.100 / 52.  0.100

Oh, also, none (and I mean NONE) of the plugins that I have tried are functional. I've attempted to troubleshoot them via the forum, but either the content of the forum or the search functionality are abysmal, nothing has helped. :|

Re: Pan-device issue with streaming M3U and FFMPEG.

Your FFmpeg looks quite old, upgrade.

I don't remember if you can just use m3u file as a live stream - you might have to use the Playlist plugin.

Re: Pan-device issue with streaming M3U and FFMPEG.

Sorry to keep you hanging, I have since upgraded my server and OS (ffmpeg too, I'm sure), I'll try to test again soon and will let you know the outcome.
