Mac OS Maverick - Server won't quit on reboot

I've had this issue in the past. I can't remember what fixed it last time, but since upgrading to Mac Mavericks when I reboot (or shutdown) my system the Serviio server application will not quit and I need to Force Quit to do the reboot or shutdown. Anyone else having this issue, or know how to solve it? I think last time I had this issue I switched to Plex for a while and then came back after an update. I'd hate to have to do that again. Thanks in advance for any help.

I personally have the habit of manually making sure all my apps are shutdown before I try to restart/reboot. I don't trust the OS to shutdown all my running apps.

I have Serviio in my startup items and it is set to be hidden. But after the upgrade to Mac OSX Maverick, Serviio shows in the task bar and the only way to shutdown is a "Force Quit"

Yes… I think we all agreed that Serviio 1.3.1 do not work properly in Mavericks… I'm waiting for a new version of Serviio to upgrade…

I just installed Serviio 1.4 on my Mavericks Mac Mini (10.9.1). No change in need to "Force Quit" to restart computer. This bug still remains...

Edit: Uninstalled Serviio, Installed Java 7 and reinstalled Java 6 with no effect on behavior.
