I've tried two different DLNA players: cPlayer and myMediaHub. They both show Serviio (as well as my WIndows 7 computers), but will only play native MP4 files.

Re: Windows Phone 8

I don't think WP8 supports HLS natively, but there are some libraries. Basically the players would have to implement that.

This is what Microsoft shows as supported formats. Not sure if HLS fits any of these:

Codec Container Note

AAC M4A Only unprotected (non-FairPlay DRM) files are supported.

H.264 MP4, M4V

MP3 MP3

MPEG-4 Part 2 MP4, M4V

WMA WMA All variations except for WMA Lossless are supported.

WMV (VC-1) WMV

Hi!
You have a working solution for Serviio to work with WP8 devices? (sw CPlayer, MyMediaHub etc.)

Sorry for my English.

I haven't bothered playing with it too much. I have been running Plex in addition to Serviio on my media server to support Roku players, and the Roku app for Windows Phone works fine. However, now that Chaneru works so well with Serviio and Roku, I may not bother with both much longer.

Re: Windows Phone 8

Moliplayer Pro for WP8 plays everything I've tried so far when streaming from Serviio 1.4. Moliplayer will switch between hardware or software decoding depending on the video being played.

The generic Serviio profile worked for the most part except for .wtv files. Setting the Windows 8/RT profile fixed this and now my Nokia 1520 plays everything Serviio can serve up!

I have noticed that a handful of .wtv files require deinterlacing, but I haven't figured out how to do this yet (I'm new to editing profiles).

Thanks for pointing this one out. I am trying the trial version, and it seems to play everything I have, although the HD movies stutter. I imagine either the WiFi isn't keeping up with the bit rate, or the phone can't handle that large of stream. Most of my movies are MKV, although there are some M2TS, MP4 and MPG as well. After I switched to the Windows 8/RT profile it plays all my WTV files fine.

The one problem I am having (and maybe it's related to the trial version) is I can't scroll the server list to see all my computers. I have a total of 7 DLNA capable PCs on the network, but the "nearby videos" list only shows five. I'm guessing there are more in the list, but I can't scroll. It is only showing one of my two Serviio machines, but the one running Windows 7 does show as a Windows Media source. I'll have to try to reach the developer I guess. This does seem to do the job, though.
