Does Servio now support streaming of VOB files over a LAN with SUBTITLES?
Re: subtitles over LAN
Do you have some file samples or examples (ffmpeg -i <file>) ?

I have hundreds of such files. That's the problem. They're just ordinary VOB files from DVD RIPs. Is this an unusual request?

- What is your device ? what is the serviio profile used (if installed) ?
- Serviio can delivered VOB in native format (so if embedded subtitles are present, your device will receive it...does support it ? )
- Serviio can delivered external subtitle in multiple format SubRip (.srt), MicroDVD (.sub), SSA/ASS (.ssa, .ass), SAMI (.smi), VTT (.vtt)
- Sorry, but all DVD RIPs I have, do not include embedded subtitles, so I reiterate, could you provide more information about one of your vob file (see my signature links : ffmpeg -i)
- I spend my free time for free cash to help users in this forum (I'm not a serviio developper)...be lenient.

I'm at work now so can't provide a file. I use DVDFab to rip and always have subs embedded. I would have to opt out. I had installed Servio a couple of years ago and discovered for myself that subs were NOT supported on VOBs at that time. Since then I've checked in (as I am now) to see if subs were supported and each time been told they would be in the "next release". I will attach a VOB later today.
EDIT: I've tried adding a file but it doesn't work. Probably too big.
Re: subtitles over LAN
The VOB subtitles are not supported as they are image bases. Only external or embedded TEXT subtitles are supported.

You make it sound like it's not possible to support VOB subs over LAN or is it just not worth the effort?
Re: subtitles over LAN
...not worth the effort.

On behalf of myself and the other HOH & deaf of the world I completely disagree. It's a bit insulting to actually have someone tell you that you don't matter. It's pretty much a given that I won't be using this software (even the free version) however you may be certain that I will go out of my way to tell others of this callous attitude.
Re: subtitles over LAN
See https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... -subtitles it's currently not possible without I believe breaking some features on certain devices
Re: subtitles over LAN
Just simply Ffmpeg makes it really difficult to burn them in atm, but I think there is some planned work to make it easier.
