Firefox: serviio 1.4 media browser not playing right

Hi I installed serviio 1.4 but have a problem with media browser, the movie starts but only sound plays no picture, some do not play at all. Anyone has a idea why?
Update the problem seams to be when using firefox, in internet wxplorer it work fine if anyone solves this please let me know regards

I have this problem same! In Internet Explorer work fine. Previously work Firefox and Internet Explorer. Sorry my Englisch not so god.

Yes, same problem here. Only a black screen in Firefox and a lot of missing covers for the movies...

Firefox has this problem and it's a known issue. I'll try to fix it in future, but currently please use Chrome or IE.

It's working fine with Chrome, but is there any way to get rid off this "Flowplayer"-Icon/Advertisement? That's not nice and if I don't use FullScreen I can't see what's in the left corner

I agree that should be taken off the screen, it doesn't look nice and if the pro version is payed for it shouldn't be there

It looks like it's a bug which has not been fixed since beta. Usually the logo is there only when playing the first video. Try to play the video for a bit, go back, play it again and the logo should disappear.

Yes it is treu if you play the second video or go back and play the same it will go, but it would be nice to have it fixed thanks for the replies regards

So I have to continue using 1.3.1 for the moment.

It's too much to explain to my girls, that they need to change their browser and start a movie two times

does it stop when playing via media browser? if yes I would check the internet connection speeds you got, upload speed where serviio is streaming from and the connection strength from the receiving device

I when I play movies from DLNA on my TV when going in half with the 1.4 version is cut and jump to the next movie anyone know why?

It could be you have the wrong profile for your device, check if the right profile is selected for your tv. If you still have problems I suggest you make a new post in the help and support and also copy the logs and paste them in your post

If you are lazy like me and/or if you don't want to use IE,
Try this - > https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fire-ie

But first,
Go to Fire IE Options,
Then IE Options TAB,
Select IE10 Standards Mode, a
And Enable hardware accelerated rendering.

Restart FF, go to your mediabrowser and switch engine before login.


Edit: btw, great job, the new mediabrowser is exelent, love the search function. I have like 14TB of files on my server and the old one was really annoying.

This does NOT work style="display:block;width:250 px;height:188 px;"

This does work style="display:block; width:250px; height:188px;"

Other browsers (IE, Opera, Chrome, Safari) work with both of the above formats. "

I tried that and it didn't help. I have it marked as 'to fix' for 1.4.1

No idea, but just a thought, flowplayer released a new version. Perhaps this could help?

i got away to fix this and it worked for me

if you had serviio in your pc b4 you put firefox on your pc you get the stoping and jumping
so what i did is take serviio out then put it back in and it now works fine i hope this help you all out to

I am pre-sales and wondering if this issue has been fixed before I buy.

The web-based streaming is the primary reason I am interested in Serviio, but no Firefox is a deal breaker.
