Re: Samsung AllShare TV disconnect problem

Hello guys. I had the same problem with my samsung HT E8200 media center and serviio: disconnect every 20-30 minutes. Devices was connected via wifi. Problem was solved when i have changed my router: zyxel keentic II is working stable and perfectly. Many home routers does not support multicast traffic correctly. Hope that this info will help somebody. Serviio is a great dlna server. I suppose that this info must be posted in FAQ, because there are many questions about this problem in the internet, and its hard to find simple answer for this problem.

What router did you have dude? I have a TalkTalk supplied one which im using, but it makes me think its not the router because my WD Live TV Streaming box works fine its just my TV having the problem.

Re: Samsung AllShare TV disconnect problem

Hi all,
first post only to share my experience:
I have a Samsung UE40D5700 with latest firmware, connected via wifi to a D-Link router (D-Link DSL-2740R rev A1 firmware ver. 1.15)
I also had frequent and regular disconnection problem in the past, I have found that multicast streams support on my router (D-Link DSL-2740R rev A1 firmware ver. 1.15) was disabled by default, enabling that resolved the problem.
Recently I have upgraded firmware on my router to 1.17, after that the disconnection problem returned despite enabling multicast stream. Tried to snoop SSDP packets and seems that router was still dropping some of those packets. The only solution found was the firmware downgrade back to 1.15.

Hope this helps someone.

jmf wrote:Ok, yesterday I set up Samsung's Allshare server on Windows and... it works. I watched entire ~3h movie and everything went fine - no disconnects.

So, it seems that our problem really is the compability issue between Samsung TVs with newest firmware and the third party media servers (including Serviio).

I confirm that.
On the same network I have a 55ES8000, a 55F8000 a bluray BD-D5500 and a bluray BD-E8900.
No disconnects with any except the 55ES8000. But the same 55ES8000 doesn't disconnec if I use Samsung Allshare Server (now samsung link) which sucks.

This usually happens every 20 minutes or so.
If you solve this you will be the only third party server without this issue.
