Yes, Windows recorded TV files (.wtv) will play. but they require transcoding. My Sony BDP-S3100 plays my recorded TV files just fine. The Sony profile transcodes the video to MPEG2 and the audio to AC-3 (Dolby Digital). If your recorded show has 5.1 sound, you will get 5.1 sound.

As far as the computer sleeping, most people don't want the computer to sleep, because it is then unavailable to stream media. You would have to manually wake the computer to be able to resume streaming. But to my knowledge, yes the computer will sleep if Serviio isn't streaming anything.

If you mean how to select the proper profile, Serviio usually selects the correct one automatically, but sometimes a different profile fits a player better. When you open the Serviio console, the first tab is labeled "Status". There's a large box in the center that shows all the devices that Serviio detects. One of these will be your Sony BD player. You will see the IP address on the left, the detected device name next, then the selected profile. For Sony players, there are 5 profiles available. Depending on your player model, one profile will likely work the best. You may need to try different profiles and see how they work. For example, my Sony BDP-S3100 is detected and uses the profile labeled "BDP-Sx100 (2013)".

If you mean, how can you modify a profile to work better with your player, that is beyond a simple forum posting, and requires a little knowledge of XML coding. There are lots of people here that can assist, and knowing actual XML coding isn't critical, but it sure helps when you are tweaking the profile and can't figure out why Serviio won't start anymore. ;)
