Re: Linux can't find video files

Yes Thanks Grolschie and Iveky, I full understand what you say about adding folders to library, my problem is I don't have the GUI window to configure, which would make it easy for me to add the folders, i just have command line,
so is it possible to configure this by just editing a config file or something can anyone advise please.

Or I was thinking to install the web gui for serviio, but not having much luck on install instruction for arch Linux, I am so close is just frustrating, any ideas would be a great help please

Re: Linux can't find video files

You can install the console on another PC, if that's an option:
http://serviio.org/component/content/article?id=21#q2

Or use a different console user interface:
http://serviio.org/component/content/article?id=21#q7
Using Serviio on Debian "Wheezy" with Xbox 360, Sony BDP-S370 & Panasonic E6.

ServiiDroid for android is another way to configure serviio on a command line server.

Re: Linux can't find video files

I am either going of the rails or I think I know what the problem is, I decided to go with the webgui by downloading
serviio-webui-unix-1.0.1-c.tar.gz
the instruction say unzip to SERVIIO_HOME keeping all sub directories, I am not sure I have got the path for SERVIIO_HOME configured in any of the scripts, as I have installed serviio under the path /usr/local/serviio-1.4.1.2/, this path already has a BIN folder and PLUGINS folder so if I extract
serviio-webui-unix-1.0.1-c.tar.gz this will over write the BIN and PLUGINS directory and may stop serviio from running on my TV as the BIN folder has serviio-console.sh and serviio.sh files in it, I think I have lost it somewhere can someone go back to basics with me, please its driving me mad
