Skipping to next file druing playing

Hi all,

first of all I'd like to thank the Serviio team for their great software. Keep it on!

A few days ago I bought a new Samsung TV, model UE40F6400. I updated it with the latest Firmware v1116. Everything works fine with connection with Serviio, i can search the folders. I can play shorter files (less than 40 min) without any trouble, but when I try to play a longer film it plays for a while 5-20 minuts long, than it skips to the nekst file in the folder. If there is no other files in the folder, it stays ther like it has finished playback.

I got it installed on my PC with the following specs:

Win XP x86 SP3 Intel Celeron CPU 1.8 GHz, 2GB RAM
Serviio 1.4 (I tryed 1.2.1, 1.3.1 too)
Selected profile for the TV: Samsung E/F Series

TV and PC are connected through an Ethernet 100/1000 router/switch.

I tryed to install it to another PC with Win 7. The problem is the same. But when I try to send a file from win7 directly from windows to the TV it plays it correctly


I already searched the forum and tried all the tricks that may relate to my problem but nothing worked.

Your help would be really appreciated.

I too have been experiencing this very same issue for months now, after I upgraded to 1.1. I searched many threads but could not find a solution. I now use Twonky to stream video files stored on my NAS to my TVs. I only use Serviio for streaming online content, which as far as I can tell is not affected by the skipping issue.
I am curently running serviio 1.4 from a dedicated Ubuntu Server. I have two Samsung renderrers (BD5700 and D Series 6300) and a Philips TV that all exhibit the issue with skipping files during play. I have tried running serviio on a virtual machine, but the issue persists. My latest attempt to fix this was to recompile FFMPEG using the latest source but that was not it. Like you I am hoping someone familiar with this issues can help us find a solution.

I observed, that this happens onley when there are more than one file in one folder!

Or, if i go into the last played/added folder, there happens allways.

The files in seperated folders are played well.

So is there no solution to this?

Without seeing your debug log, its impossible to diagnose this. Please change your log to debug and post relevant section of where it happens.

Nothing changes in the log.
