DLNA not working

It is possible that your wireless router has been configured to block access to your local network for wireless devices. This is often called a "guest" profile, which allows people to access the Internet with your WiFi without allowing access to your internal network. Also, some routers block certain types of broadcast messages on the network from being sent over the wireless segment. Make sure you have allowed Unicast and/or Multicast packets. Not all WiFi routers have such settings, though.

Another possibility is that your WiFi box is issuing a different IP address subnet than the main network is using. This puts your wireless devices on a different "subnet", and the broadcast messages I mentioned above will not cross the router. If this is the case, your wireless is misconfigured and must be redone. You don't want the wireless box to be issuing IP addresses. Only one device on the network (usually your Internet router, commonly either a cable or DSL router) should be doing this.

The quickest way to see if the 2nd issue is the problem, check the IP address of your Serviio computer and the IP address of something connected to the WiFi. An IP address is four segments of 1-3 digits each. Most home networks use the range of 192.168.0.x (x being different on each device). If your computer is (for example) 192.168.0.3 and your wireless device is 192.168.1.2, the third segment is different, and the two devices cannot see each other. However, if both devices have the same numbers in the first three segments (192.168.0), regardless of what they are, then they are on the same segment and should see each other.

One final caution about IP addresses. Most WiFi routers will be assigning an address within what is considered a "private" network. But if someone just randomly sticks numbers in there, you could have issues. Private IP network addresses are intentionally blocked from being routed across the Internet. If you use what is considered a "public" IP address on a private network, you could encounter issues. There are a number of private IP address blocks for home use. They are 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x, with the x being any number between 0 and 254.
