viewtopic.php?f=10&t=16690&p=92422#p92422

If adding the H series profile does not solve your problem, then add the maxVBitrate attribute to the OnlineTranscoding --> Video nodes as in the previous examples.
And like stefana888 pointed out, you could probably raise the attribute value to 30000.

Thanks again, I tried it and also put your bitrate modification but it still says not supported. I'm kinda flummoxed as to why it works with my really old C series but not the H Series.

Hmm.

I kept reading in that same thread and found this post, which suggests removing much of the transcoding instructions from the suggested H series profile:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=16690&start=20#p93693

Try it, it might work?

Sorry it din't work out for you.

I created this issue to hopefully get a proper Samsung H profile in coming releases:

Re: [SOLVED] "Video codec not supported" on Samsung D

Thanks @ottomatic, that ticket was the key apparently with the H Series the TV needs the file size to be sent for streaming to work. With serviio 1.5 it works great now with the new H series profiles and the file size bugfix.

On a separate note I notice that now while 90% of the streaming shows work (e.g. CBS.com) sometimes 10% of them won't work and it says not supported (not video codec, just not supported) while trying to stream. E.g. The Good Wife of the 5 available streaming shows 4 works and 1 says not supported. Any idea why or how to debug this?

The standard answer would be to enable debug logging, look in the log for the ffmpeg command which is issued to play your show, and run that command from a command console.

See if there is an error in the output. If it is, create a thread for that error in the Transcoding forum. Or create a ticket directly at https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/

Re: [SOLVED] "Video codec not supported" on Samsung D

The solution posted above to fix the D series is incorrect.
The stream http://82.76.249.77/digi24edge/digi24hdhqhls/index.m3u8 plays correctly on the D series without using MaxVBitrate.
The other format of the stream is problematic due to many stream errors. rtsp://82.76.249.77:80/digi24edge/digi24hdhq

This is due to a bug in the initial firmware. Update yours and the fix is no longer required.

I have updated the firmware to version T-MSV4DEUC-1011.0. I can not find another version that works with my TV. There are different Samsung D series firmwares (MSV, MST). So I seem to need the fix.

I did not realize the firmware varied that much. I have 64" plasma PN64D550 and firmware is 1018.1 and that fixes it for me.
see http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/model/PN64D550C1FXZA

Looks like : T-MST4DEUC-1029.0 2013.03.09 is your upgrade, but who knows if it is the same fix.
see http://www.samsung.com/ie/support/model/UE19D4000NWXXU and click the ? by the firmware version for applicable TV models.

Maybe you should stick with what works.

T-MST4DEUC-1029.0 can not be installed. It differs from T-MSV4DEUC for my UE40D5000 LED TV (one letter). I got the latest T-MSV4DEUC so I am stuck with the profiles workaround described in this thread.
