Serviio 1.5 install on Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS

I have a server running Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS. I followed a detailed installation guide I found and got Serviio running, with two exceptions:

- FFMpeg isn't on the server.
I'm trying to keep the server as clean as possible, and building it would cause me to have to install the compiler and such.
I guess that will cause transcoding not to work, but if I don't need that initially I should be fine? The installaion mentioned libav as an alternative which is installed.
- The console will not run for the simple reason it is a headless server with no X installed.
- A console started on a windows box with

will not show errors in its log, but neither open a window. TaskManager shows it running but not doing anything.

You need ffmpeg to index files too. Perhaps there are static builds for Ubuntu somewhere.

The console on Windows doesn't open the window on startup, but you should see the icon in System Tray.

Hmmm, I'll try to find a fitting build. Console did indeed work today and, to my surprise, so did the server. Appearently letting it sit and stew for a few days caused it to start working. Haven't been able to find any log messages that may explain why.
