I had an HU8550 for a short time, and now have a JU7100. I've never seen a Samsung screen offer any metadata viewing. The 8550 would show the image, but that was it. My BD player doesn't even show the image. The JU7100 does (if I remember correctly, I've only had it 5 days).
So far, I've only found one player that shows the metadata, and that's the Roku player. I'm not saying nothing else does, just that's all I've seen.
