unable to play subtitles on xbox 360

When i play and mkv file with embedded subtitles it plays as normal without any subtitles and even when i extract the subtitle and name both files the same and try this i get the unplayable content error message on xbox, is the xbox not supported in terms of subtitles, I have all subtitles optioned enabled on the console.

Do you check "enable extract embedded subtitles" on serviio console ?

With embedded it only means Serviio will try to extract them from the file, not send the file with embedded subtitles.

Yes on both questions, do i have to have the burn in option checked only?

i am still having the same issues, no matter which subtitle options i use, whether i have all of them selected or either one selected and i have tried this other files

Were you able to resolve this issue. I am wondering because I am having the same problem as the original poster. I extract the files give the .ass file the same name as my mkv file and it won't play the video anymore.

There were problem with File name that used special char like [], could you remove them, refresh library and retry ?

I just tried that. Got the same results. Just to be sure. On the serviio console I should Have all three options in Subtitles checked off correct?

Also could I be having problems because of the codecs I'm using. (CCCP and FFdshow)...could it be a Windows8 problem too?

that's strange, I have everything but hard subs enabled on my server and the 360 displays subs for me. I just watched a movie last night that was an mp4 with an SRT file and it worked great.

Yeah I thinking about re-installing windows8 when i get home from work in a few hours and retrying then. Wish me luck, I post with updates if that works.
