Newbie setup help required

Hi,
I have installed Serviio Console on my Windows PC, created a user and assigned that user to my WiFi music device, but when I use the MediaBrowser to play music it comes out of the PC speakers, not the WiFi device.
Please can anyone tell me where I have gone wrong.
Thank you.

Re: Newbie setup help required

That unfortunately is going to be a computer setting, nothing to do with Serviio. Since it's Windows, you can open the Settings/System/Sound menu (assuming Windows 11, as that's what I'm checking it on) and choose where the sound is played. Right now on my laptop only has one option, the internal speakers. But when I turn on my Air Pods (Bluetooth connection) they appear as a selection. Normally my laptop switched to the headphones (Air Pods) automatically, but I can't say if that's happening on yours and I see no setting to make it an auto select.

[EDIT] Wait, I think I misunderstood. Unless Windows recognizes your Networked devices as an audio playback device, you can't tell MediaBrowser specifically to play the audio there. MB is strictly a web browser based player and not a DLNA casting device, and can only play the audio where the computer is configured to play.

Thank you Dan.
Windows 11 won't recognise the WiFi device, so I am not going to be able to do it this way.
Unfortunately casting from Windows Media Player or alternatives plays one or two tracks then stops, so it looks like I'll need to invest in specific hardware (Wiim Pro or similar) to achieve my aim.

Re: Newbie setup help required

I seem to have stumbled upon a useable workaround for this issue:
On a Windows 11 PC enable "Phone Link". This then allows you to control your phone from your desktop.
I've tried BubblePnP with Serviio but it wasn't very user friendly so I'm now trying Hi-Fi Cast which links directly to my MusicBee library (didn't want to work with Serviio) and streams to my HiFi via a Jongo A2.
It's only been a few hours, but all seems fine so far.

Nice work, and thanks for sharing your workaround!

Re: Newbie setup help required

I gave up on Hi-Fi Cast due to the adverts constantly interupting play (the paid for version should stop that but I like at least a few days trial before purchasing).
I've now gone back to BubblePnP. When in Album View it does 90% of what I want.
