Help me before I loose my mind:(

I have desperately been trying to setup Serviio on my WHS 2011 without success. None of my other equipment discovers the DLNA server. I have been trying anything I can think of. Disabled the firewall etc.

The most annyoing thing is that if I install on my W7 client machine Serviio it discover my devices right away..

What can I do?

Re: Help me before I loose my mind:(

Can you post the serviio.log from the whs?

  Code:
My device doesn't see Serviio

This could be caused by you having multiple IP addresses on the machine and Serviio binding to a wrong one. Insert IP address of the machine running Serviio into 'Bound IP address' field in Network Settings section in the console or pass system variable serviio.boundAddr including the IP address when starting the server.

Also make sure that TCP port 8895 and UDP 1900 are open in your firewall.

If you are on a Linux based OS, make sure you set up multicast routes properly.

If on Windows, you can push Serviio service down in starting order.

Re: Help me before I loose my mind:(

Did you verify that the ports was opened?

Can you try and ping the devices from the Server running WHS?

What are the IP addresses of your devices?

Hi again. I have completely disabled WHS 2011 Firewall and have no other Firewall installed. The closest is MSE.
I have also disabled SSDP service to get port 1900 free.
I have tried to ping 192.168.1.50 which is my Yahama receiver and I can ping it. No problem. The W7 client machines finds it with no problem in Serviio but not my WHS which is the important one.

I'm guessing it has something to do with ports. Perhaps port 1900 is occupied, but If I try netstat -abn I get the following on port 1900.

Re: Help me before I loose my mind:(

I have a ISP router and another behind that one, but now I have disabled UpNP on the 2 routers, but I can try to turn them on again and see, but it's still very strange, that the W7 client can do it and not the WHS 2011.
They are both on wired cable.

Can you enable detailed logging per signature and post the log here as an attachment.

Here is my debug log. I hope it can help, so I can get it working. I really want it to. I have also disabled SSDP like on the W7 client machine, but still no joy:(

Nothing...

Do you try with INTEL Upnp tool, see my signature link?

Could you also try this tool in both W7 and WHS ?
you have to invoke it from the folder where ListNic.class is stored.

Sorry, I didn't make the link...there are too many posts!!
To resume, your device is seen with INTEL Upnp tool on your Windows Server 2008 ?

Could you check :
Start -> Run -> services.msc -> OK -> Select Services
And check if there is a Service :SSDP Discovery.
- set to automaically start
- click start button

I have disabled it yesterday to avoid any conflict with Serviio, since I thought Serviio didn't used it, but have it enabled now.

It's very hard to understand (my poor english probably)...To resume:
Windows Server 8
- when Windows Upnp service is enabled (SSDP), Upnp Device Spy does not find your Yamaha Receiver.
- when Windows Upnp service is disabled (SSDP), Upnp Device Spy finds your Yamaha Receiver.
- Serviio never finds your Yamaha Receiver

Windows 7
- All is fine.

But when I run Intel UpNp Device Spy it does NOT find my Yamaha Receiver, but it does on W7 machine. Does that make sense?

It's very hard to understand (my poor english probably)...To resume:
Windows Server 8
- when Windows Upnp service is enabled (SSDP), Upnp Device Spy does not find your Yamaha Receiver.
- when Windows Upnp service is disabled (SSDP), Upnp Device Spy finds your Yamaha Receiver.
- Serviio never finds your Yamaha Receiver

Windows 7
- All is fine.

Do you have another device found with Upnp Device Spy ?

When Windows SSDP service is enabled and UpNP is enable on WHS 2011 (Windows Server 2008) Intel device spy only lists Serviio on WHS 2011 and no other devices are found.
When Windows SSDP service is disabled and UpNP is disabled on WHS 2011 (Windows Server 2008) Intel device spy only lists Serviio on WHS 2011 and no other devices are found.

So Serviio never found my DLNA devices no matter what on the WHS 2011 machine.

And when running netstat with SSDP enabled it says:
Can not obtain ownership information

So Intel Device Spy never found your Yamaha device on WHS 2011.
