Sony SMP N100 locks up

Hi,
I have installed serviio 0.62 on ubuntu 11.10, and am streaming videos/pictures over the wifi connection to the smp 100 box, works well apart from one thing:

when I am playing an avi file (not tested other video file types) on the player and I fast forward the movie, after about 30 seconds of fast forward the smp100 box locks up and the only way to recover it is to do a hard power reset. I am not sure if this is due to

- Serviio side locking up
- wireless glitch - i will try with a ethernet cable, I am not sure how this is handled.
- something wrong with the avi file.

I did notice that the java process was consuming 100% cpu, but after I changed openjdk with the Sun one this seemed to improve and the cpu is back down to normal.
Any advice on where to look at this locking up issue? I think it could be the smp100 more than anything.

I can confirm with the BDP-S780. Some avi files (mkv) can freeze the device. It helps mostly a hard reset.

not sure on this can you post a debug log file of when this happens ( howto in my signature ) as dont know of any specific crash issues relating to this device.

edit: also make sure u have the sony blu-ray profile selected for this device in serviio console.

that makes no sense bro what files can freeze the blu-ray device AVI or MKV there 2 different file types?

thats ok then cause patter factored that into teh profile and is remuxing them, from what i understand, he will comment if im mistaken

Here is the debug. What actually happened in this case is the picture frame freezes during FF. Then after a while the avi starts from the beginning and I just hear the sound but sometimes it doesnt, I also found that a restart of serviio resolves when the player is completely hung,

This is unlikely to be a Serviio problem, I'd suspect the file. All Serviio does is send the bitstream. Any decode problems are going to be the renderer's fault - especially since AVI is unmodified by the profile for SMP. There are many non-compliant/badly authored ones out there.
