"File not supported" LN52A750 Problem--Help!!!

I am trying to get Serviio working with a Samsung LN52A750 (I'm a Serviio Noob). I can't play any videos at all--most are xvid with mp3 or ac3 audio. Almost all of the files play perfectly using the Samsung PC Share software, however I'd like to be able to play other formats including those with ac3 audio.

At this point I can see the media, but nothing plays using serviio, I get an error that the format is not supported. I have set the type to samsung A series, but no luck.

Any ideas? There don't seem to be many folks in the forum with older Samsungs, though there is a post with someone using v0.4 successfully... should I try that? Or is there something more elemental that I am missing?

Yes, but it's not my TV so when I go back to my father's I'll get the logs.

which log would have what you need? I see a serviio.log and a derby.log in the program directory...

In addition, on this network, all I see for each device is a yellow icon and "unrecognized device" for various network devices. The network seems fine otherwise... and the Samsung DLNA sharing app works for these files and they play using USB. So there's something really screwy going on.

Now I have just tested using a .MP4 file and it works! The .avi files, which are xvid, do not work over the network. I'm guessing that no .avi's are going to work at the moment. Any suggestions?

Well, just a little update on my issue with .avi files.

It turns out that the Samsung LN52A750 works reasonably well with the DirecTV HD-DVR setting. The avi's don't work with any of the Samsung profiles for me. I tried a coupkle of different TV firmwares (1012 and 2003) and there was no difference.

After I found that MP4 files seemed to work, i tried various profiles and found that the 2009 Sony profile worked with the .avi files but broke the MP4's.

So now I need to fine tune the profile and get the TV working perfectly (it's actually very usable right now). I did notice that forward and reverse don't work, which sucks... is there a way to get that working?

Yes I had exactly the same problem and changing the mime type for AVI solved it. Please provide feedback because some issues can be related to tv firmware bugs not serviio.
