Titles Missing From Series

I am having a problem with some episodes not showing up in the series list. If I browse to it by selecting folders, it is there. Once this happens, all I have to do to get it to show up in the Series list is to rename the file. I do this by adding a space to the end of the filename just before the dot in the extension. What is weird, if I then rename the file back, it disappears again.

I have been dealing with this for a while now, and it is starting to get real old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Titles Missing From Series

check the detailed log to see what name it''s using to find the online metadata and if it's successful

Re: Titles Missing From Series

A search of the log reviledthe following entry...

2012-07-24 18:41:10,410 WARN [LibraryManager] Cannot read metadata of file /media/TV/TV_500/Pretty Little Liars/Pretty Little Liars - 3x07 - Crazy.mp4 via extractor ONLINE_VIDEO_SOURCES. Message: Cannot retrieve series search results for tvdb.com: connect timed out

So, if the connection times out, does it ever try again? Also, why would the episode disappear if I rename it back to the original name.

No, it won't.

Also, why would the episode disappear if I rename it back to the original name.

It might be just coincidence. Once ou rename it it'll then treat is as a new file and attempt to get the online metadata again - this time it may succeed. Also note that entries are removed from the library within 1 hour so you might see an episode entry that has been added 1 hour ago when the online MD check worked.

Re: Titles Missing From Series

Thanks for the info. Other than renaming the files, is there a way to trigger a full scan for missing entries?

Re: Titles Missing From Series

Click on Refresh video metadata button on the metadata tab (it'll refresh all video files, not just the missing ones)
