TV/stream keeps dropping out

Hi all,

I usually watch The football streams that are available through sopcast. I pull the sopcast stream in On my server then add it into serviio as a live stream. This usually works fine but I must admit iv not used it since upgrading.

Football season started today and I launch the stream. Connect to the stream on my Samsung tv and after 1min of it playing fine the tv gets disconnected, I reconnect and the same happens again, I tried this on all three of my Samsung TV's and the same happens.

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

The same issue over here. Tried several Premier League streams and it always jumps back to the DLNA/Folder-structure after 45-60 seconds of playing.

Me too. I first thought it may be some impulse-signal from Sky or ESPN (yeah, conspiracy theory :)) so I tried other streams from other countries (e.g. a low-bitrate stream from the Polish League) = same issue.
When I stream 720p/1080p files from my HDD, it works without any problem.

Do you use Serviio 1.0.1 or still 1.0? I downgraded to 1.0 and now I can stream a certain "bloody" ;) Sopcast stream without any interruption. Try it out! Will see tomorrow if it work during PL...

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

Yes I recently updated to 1.0.1

Same thing, I also have no issues streaming high qauilty streams. Especially through the browser.

I'll try switching back to 1.0 tomorrow and report back when the match is on. Did you do a fresh install? I'll have to find a link for 1.0 on google as its not on the main site no more. This might prove it in the new build.

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

I think it's down to the quality of the stream. 1.0.1 did have no changes from 1.0 that could affect this.

Hi, stream was the same. On the pc the stream was played without any interruption. Also tried various different streams, all of them were gone after a max of 1 minute  Soon Wigan - Chelsea will start, will see then...

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

Iv downgraded to version 1.0 and the stream is still dropping out.

@zip what do you mean down to the quality of the stream? It was never an issue before and the stream is playing fine on the server with a 98% buffer.

I'm going to roll back to 0.6.2 when I know it definitely worked and see what happens

Did the same about 10 minutes ago and the stream is still working as normal... so the issue most likely to be caused by the switch from 0.6.2 to 1.0. :?:
Since I only use Serviio for this purpose I can live with 0.6.2 but I guess there are many others who also use it differently.

EDIT: Stream stopped again. I give up and start to believe the conspiracy theory...

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

Mine seems to be playing but on my D series tv im getting some serious transcoding issues, it wont settle out, stop starting with a messed up pic. The E series tv is doing the same but throwing up an error saying unsupported audio.

This sucks :( how its not your theory lol and its a problem on our ends/ serviio

Well i had it running for just over 5min which is alot longer than it was but im having some sort of transcoding issues now so stop it while i have a play with the profile. It played smooth on 1.0.1 just kept cutting out.

There's got to be something happening between serviio picking the stream link up and transcoding it. Its not that the stream ends, serviio is getting disconnected itself.

That's right... but the best would be if it runs 90 minutes ;) It's really strange that I was able to watch a stream yesterday for 2 hours without interruption (1.0)

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

h264 in mpeg (ps) container is weird. usually h264 is in mpegts. Might be FFmpeg doesn't like it - try to get the latest FFmpeg.

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

Will try again tomorrow with latest build of ffmpeg, thought I had it tbh, will check.

I do know BZ did some upgrading on his side recently (last month)

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

BZ stream is live now for the Monday night football. I have upgraded serviio back to 1.0.1 and checked my ffmpeg version. This was an old build so have installed the latest.

Loaded everything up and it played for just under 10min then disconnects.

Tried reconnecting and it is back to disconnecting every min.

BZ stream (crashing out)

Re: TV/stream keeps dropping out

Wingsgb wrote:BZ stream is live now for the Monday night football. I have upgraded serviio back to 1.0.1 and checked my ffmpeg version. This was an old build so have installed the latest.

Loaded everything up and it played for just under 10min then disconnects.

Tried reconnecting and it is back to disconnecting every min.
