media files not in series, movies, etc.

Hey guys,

I update from serviio 0.6.2 to 1.0.1. Now I have a problem. All files scanned successfully. But they are only accessible by mediabrowser and Samsung TV (D-series) over "Folders"-folder. In "series" or "movies" no movie is available. And forcing a rescan ends very fast (~10s). Did anybody have a clue? I think this error is very wired.
Otherwise I have to downgrade and use my backup of version 0.6.2

Thanks for your time!

Re: media files not in series, movies, etc.

go to thetvdb.com and rename one of the files to match the exact name given there without spaces, rescan, see if that causes the ep to show up in 'series'

eg: Chuck.s01e01.avi or Dead.Like.Me.s01e01.mkv

make sure there are no illegal characters in the file/folder path name

That should not be the problem . I use the same folder as shared folder like in version 0.6.2. There all works fine. But in version 1.0.1 it only shows the files "Folders"-folder

Maybe that should not be the problem, but I'm using v1.01 without the same problems so it was just something to try by way of starting the troubleshooting process.

Could you turn on detailed logging, restart Serviio, connect with your TV and post the logs here please?

Do you have the other categories enabled in the Presentation tab?

@zip all categories are enabled and visibility is "Display category". The folder series or movies is visible but weirdly empty ...

@spadge I attached the log. First I start serviio open the series folder and shutdown the server again.

Re: media files not in series, movies, etc.

Hey I add some Schloss EInstein series around "Folge 600" (Season 13)

1. I start the server.
2. Force a refresh.
3. After finishing starting TV and go to folder series. (is still empty)
4. Switch off TV
5. Stop serviio

The logs are attached.

Sorry for the delay!

I doesn't go to the online DBs for metadata. Do you have that enabled on the Metadata tab? Also make sure the M icon (descriptive metadata, http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=ser ... _explained) is checked for the shared folders.

is ffmpeg on the path for the Serviio user? If not, use ffmpeg.location system property in serviio.sh script.

Re: media files not in series, movies, etc.

you are great. It seems to work right now.

Just one other problem. It is not that important but it would be nice if it works. I also use some times the online repositories (youtube). But for a while (also in the old version) it doesn't work. The files are displayed correctly, but if I start playing a file it writes unknown file format. I try to start the ffmpeg command serviio wrote in the log-file.

  Code:
/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg -rtsp_transport +tcp+udp -i rtsp://v3.cache3.c.youtube.com/CigLENy73wIaHwkIERP2Xu5BBRMYDSANFEgGUgx1c2VyX3VwbG9hZHMM/0/0/0/video.3gp -y -threads 1 -copyts -c:v mpeg2video -sameq -r 30000/1001 -g 15 -c:a ac3 -b:a 384k -ar 48000 -ac 1 -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -sn -f vob /home/martin/tmp/Serviio/transcoding-temp-1000000000010005-1-ORIGINAL.stf

there is enough space and write access.

the file will be created but have a size of 0 byte

I also try to copy with cp a 250mb file in the folder without problems ...
