Sony BDP S570

My blue ray player lost the media server. It was working fine but then just stopped. I think it has something to do with the bound ip. Initially it was set at 192.168.1.9. This ip disappeared. I am not sure how to bind it to an ip. Also, the console detects my Mac as a dlna renderer 192.168.1.2. I can make a static ip but I need the Mac address to do this. I am running serviio pro with mountain lion. Please help

Re: Sony BDP S570

bdid you try not to bind to any IP? It might work it out by itself.

If it doesn't work, static IP is alway a good idea. Mac address should be printed when you type

  Code:
ifconfig

in your terminal

Re: Sony BDP S570

Thanks for the reply Not binding doesn't work. How do I determine what ip to use? Or can I just pick one and assign? When I use the ifcongig. Is that the Mac address for the machine? Or does the media server generate its own?

Re: Sony BDP S570

Got it to work again. Don't ask me how. It is now on a static ip. Hopefully when the leases expires it will still work. Anyone know how to prevent the expiration?

Which setting in router. I set the ip to static, but I believe eventually it will expire.

Router dependant.
On my router, IP are fixed according to the MAC device address... so never change.

Re: Sony BDP S570

Well, it happened again. Server lost. The player is detected on the the console but no luck on the tv. I have a fixed ip that is entered into the server settings. I really don't get how it can be fine for days and then just crap out. Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
