Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

dear community.

i've a problem with my Sharp Aquos LC-46LE824E and the profiles from serviio, i want to play '.avi' Files i set the profile to 'Panasonic Viera E/S/ST/VT (2011)' with this Settings i can't see '.mkv' files in the folders, when i switch to 'Samsung TV (A-Series)' i can play without any problems ".mkv" files. with the Samsung profile i can see all the other ".avi" files with the playtime but when i press play, the video will not start.

i think the Sharp DLNA Client is very bad, i can't stop, resume, rewind or forward from any video file. all files will start at a playtime from 11 secounds, iv'e no settings found to change or modify this problem.

which way should be go to play all files with only one profile? at the moment i switch the profiles with the 'serviidroid' android application from my couch but this is not realy a good solution.

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

so does it not work properly with the "Sharp Aquos" profile?

Serviio does it's best to auto detect the device but some devices don't ID themselves properly so you have to select the proper profile manually.

You shouldn't have to switch profiles around, the profile set provided has support for a pretty descent chunk of devices out there but in some cases manual profile tweaking is required for TV's that don't fall within the provided configs.

If your finding that the Sharp Aquos profile is not working for some file types, you will need to do a bit of tweaking to get different types to play.

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

when i use the "Sharp Aquos" profile than i can't see or browse anything, no movies, no series. with a lot of other profiles i can see the files but no playback.

so i think the 'Sharp Aquos' profile doesn't work.

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

ok, does it work if you set "generic DLNA profile" ? This config *should* work for your TV as it transcodes everything regardless of format.

For best results you will need to take the working parts of the Samsung and Panasonic profiles and use those as a baseline to modify the Sharp profile for your TV

Here is a guide on profile editing.

Hello,

I have Sharp Aquos LC-40LE924E so pretty much the same TV and pretty much the same problem.
This resolved my problems with avi files.

Added this part to Sharp Aquos profile:
...
<Matches container="avi" vCodec="mpeg4" />
<Matches container="avi" vCodec="msmpeg4" />
<Matches container="avi" vCodec="mjpeg" />
...

Actually copied from Sony Bravia 2012 US profile.

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

Does anyone have problems with the Playback controls (FF, RW, Pause, Play) as I have - it is not working well?
Sharp Aquos Model LC-40LE924E (similar as 814/824/925)

I found this topic
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2921#p18484
but profile from this topic does not solve my problem.

All videos are transcoded as targetVCodec="mpeg2video" and tested with mpegts and mpeg containers, it is playing well (avi and mkv) but Playback controls does not work properly.
I suppose Tv is confused about size and time during transcoding and streaming.

Any suggestions?

With Serviio 1.2 the same problem.
Playback controls does not work properly on Sharp Aquos (FF, RW, Pause).

I will be satisfied with Pause only :)
Pause does freeze(pause) the Movie, but after resume it is not continued on proper place - part of Movie is skipped. (both mkv and avi)

Does anyone has an idea how to solve problem?

Debug lines:
2013-03-17 22:36:00,940 DEBUG [GETMethodProcessor] Delivering bytes 170598400 - 50000000000 from transcoded file, based on time range 1026 - 7314

So I paused movie about every minute or so.
From debug lines - does anyone knows why are time ranges so strange and why Pause function skips part of the movie (avi, mkv all the same).
It is pretty useless to watch movies without playback functions - at least pause.
Does anyone has any idea?

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

try some other profile, starting with Generic. Looks like the TV doesn't play nice with transcoded files.

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

Maybe I'm an annoying but tried more or less every profile and couldn't solve Pause issue.
Could someone explain debug lines:
Debug lines:
2013-03-17 22:36:00,940 DEBUG [GETMethodProcessor] Delivering bytes 170598400 - 50000000000 from transcoded file, based on time range 1026 - 7314

What is delivering bytes (bytes sent from Serviio?), what is time range (timestamp from TV?)?

Problem is as follows:
After every Pause movie time is doubled.
So after 1min, Pause is pressed. I suppose then Serviio send only part of the movie from 1min but TV somehow remembers that Pause is pressed on 1min and Movie continues on 2min. After next Pause Movie continues on 4min and so on.

Is it possible to somehow configure that Serviio always sending whole movie?

Thanks in advance

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

the TV makes a request for time range of the file, if it asks for a wrong time range Serviio can do nothing about it.

It seems it should work like this:

- you play the file from the beginning (range 0 - end)
- you pause at 5 seconds
- you press play (tv asks for range 5 - end)
...

If the TV somehow asks for double start time, not much I can do.

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

Any chance of "pre-transcoding"?

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

Did you tyr the Sharp profile?

THese files look very similar, probably something in the way the file is encoded that is breaking compatibility.

Of course but without any solution, on my Sharp TV with the Sharp profile it will play nothing, no .mkv no .avi.

in the serviio version before the last two releases 1.9 iirc?! my Sharp tv play with the stock 'Samsung B' profile these two .mkv files.

It is working with all my video files (avi, mkv etc.)
"Only" problems are pause, FF, RW

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

Hello,

Could someone help me with following:

This video plays:
Input #0, matroska,webm, from 'crtani/The.Incredibles.(2004).HRsink.720p/The Incredibles (2004) 1080p.HDTV.Hr Audio-badw.mkv':
Metadata:
ENCODER : Lavf54.49.102
Duration: 01:50:34.65, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 3605 kb/s
Stream #0:0: Video: h264 (High), yuv420p, 1920x800 [SAR 1:1 DAR 12:5], 25 fps, 25 tbr, 1k tbn, 50 tbc (default)
Stream #0:1(hrv): Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 384 kb/s (default)
At least one output file must be specified

This video doesn't play:
Input #0, matroska,webm, from 'dokumentarni/BBC.Setnja.s.dinosaurima.E01-E06.DVDRip.HRSink.x264/E01 - Nova krv.mkv':
Metadata:
creation_time : 2013-03-05 13:06:17
Duration: 00:29:09.60, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 1001 kb/s
Stream #0:0: Video: h264 (High), yuv420p, 640x464 [SAR 1:1 DAR 40:29], 25 fps, 25 tbr, 1k tbn, 50 tbc (default)
Stream #0:1: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 128 kb/s (default)

My profile is above.
Of course when I comment
<!--Matches container="matroska" vCodec="h264" aCodec="ac3"/--> both videos will be transcoded and working but how should I distinct those two videos and for first to set up only remuxing and for second transcoding.
Thanks in advance

Re: Sharp Aquos DLNA Profiles

No way to distinguish, unless they have different H264 profiles/levels.
