Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
Everything working well and problematic files play using Sony 2011 profile but only after remuxing audio with avidemux to ac3 which takes about 5 mins. The only problem I have is that the server is not recognised by any console installed into windows. I've tried on xp, 7 and 8 with both 1.1 & 1.2 consoles. Any help on this would be appreciated. It's more annoying than anything else as the serviidroid app recognises the server so I'm not stuck for adding folders or profiles but it would be handy for the missus to be able to add them if I'm not home.
Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
I've been using serviio on server 2008 R2 for about 2 years now, but I got myself a NSA325 with hopes to switch platforms and reduce my carbon blueprint
Now, I followed the guide (by the way thanks for great work with guide and serviio) and was able to successfully install serviio on NAS. Couple problems I have now is I don't see anything in the Presentation Tab on ServiioConsole and my client (tested with iPad2 and Media Link Player) won't display large photos over 3MB or play any video that is not h.264 encoded. The iPad issue is not a big deal, but I would like to customize my Presentation Folder view. Any suggestions? Is it possible to make a complete package for Zyxel NAS?
Thanks again for all your hard work. Serviio is a great piece of software...

Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
After unsuccessfully trying to get serviio 1.1 to work, I installed ffmpeg -1.1.1 with serviio 1.2 on my NSA325 and presentation tab is now working as well as streaming to a few of my clients. Pretty excited to see it run on the NAS.
Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
I've tried to edit the serviio.sh script on my (windows) PC. (Connecting to my NSA 310 through putty).
When running the script serviiod.sh I get:
: command not found.sh: line 1:
: command not found.sh: line 3:
: command not found.sh: line 5:
: command not found.sh: line 10:
: command not found.sh: line 11:
: numeric argument requirede 11: exit: 0
How did Reno fix this?

I used vim on NSA325 to edit serviio.sh file and it worked just fine.
Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
Guys
I'm a complete newb to this..so please forgive my basic questions.
I'm planning to install 1.2 on my NSA325, and from what I understand I need to install ffmpeg 1.1.1 for that. Could someone please guide me as to where all should the guide be modified?
Update:
I went ahead and installed Serviio 1.2 with ffmpeg 0.1.1. Serviio works( it is detected, haven't tested subtitles yet) but I've noticed that the video playback is really choppy. I have a Toshiba TV which requires transcoding, and I think this might be the reason behind the slow buffering.
Just wanted to check, is this because of the ffmpef incompatibility, or is this normal with zyxel nsa325? Should I go back to Serviio 1.1 or is there an easy way to update ffmpeg?
Would really be grateful for any help.

Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
I followed the instructions to the letter, changing the version of java as appropriate, but when I come time to start the service I get the following
root@NSA325:/ffp/start# sh /ffp/start/serviiod.sh start
Starting Serviio
/ffp/start/serviiod.sh: line 72: start-stop-daemon: not found
Failed
Java is definitely installed. Any ideas?
The only difference is that it complained when I wrote tar xfvz serviio-1.1-linux.tar.gz near the end and I had to type tar xvzf serviio-1.1-linux.tar.gz
If I typed what was in the example I got
root@NSA325:/ffp/start# tar xfvz serviio-1.1-linux.tar.gz
tar: can't open 'vz': No such file or directory
However, When I launch the PS3, there is a serviio icon there, but no videos at all.
root@NSA325:/ffp/start# sh /ffp/start/serviiod.sh start

Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
this tutorial works for me on Zyxel NSA 310 just as described, I'm running serviio-1.2.1-linux.tar.gz with ejre-7u21-fcs-b11-linux-arm-sflt-headless-04_apr_2013.tar.gz and this works just perfect with my Sony kdl-32ex650
root@nsa:~# java -version
java version "1.7.0_21"
Java(TM) SE Embedded Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_21-b11, headless)
Java HotSpot(TM) Embedded Client VM (build 23.21-b01, mixed mode)
Thanks Man, you have a big beer from me! I was about to write my steps but this is useless, you have wrote it all

Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
I am a newbie on this topic, but I would like to install serviio 1.2.1 on a Zyxel NSA325.
Could you possibly update the howto or describe the steps that are different to install this version?
@nforced: Have you installed ffmpeg 1.1.1 when you were installing Serviio 1.2.1? How have you done that? From what I am reading that seems to be the biggest question for everyone...
Thanks in advance to anyone helping me on that.
Markus

Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
what is wrong many times i see java or ffmpeg uses 99% of CPU!!!?? I have isntalled servio 1.2.1 and ffmpeg 1.1.1
Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
ah i have successfully deleted serviio from nsa325, it was so bad experience, nas server was so slow, sometimes it get response in longer time, back to twonky is much faster and better, because it is integrated with whole nsa325 firmware.

Hi ,
I followed this article to install serviio on my newly purchased NSA325 but i am stuck when i try to start the service. Here's the error that i get.
root@NSA325:/ffp/start# sh /ffp/start/serviiod.sh start

Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
When you created serviiod.sh, are you sure that you copy and pasted the whole file from this thread? (I know I never noticed the scrollbars at first.)
Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
I think i did. Here's my script
root@NSA325:/ffp/start# cat serviiod.sh
#!/ffp/bin/sh
# FFP Startup script for Serviio
EXEC=/ffp/opt/serviio/bin/serviio.sh
PIDFILE=/var/run/serviiod.pid
JAVA_HOME=/ffp/opt/java/jre

You didn't!

Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
Thank You @JamesUK ...stupid of me not to realise it after you indicated the scroll bar thing. I have copied the entire script now and serviio does start okay but it doesnt stay running for long.
root@NSA325:/ffp/start# sh /ffp/start/serviiod.sh start
Starting Serviio
OK
root@NSA25:/ffp/start# ps -ef | grep serviio

Re: HOWTO: Serviio 1.1 on Zyxel NSA 325
That java command looks odd - The parameters don't match what's in my /ffp/opt/serviio/bin/serviio.sh - You can see the expected java command in the first post in this topic.
Note: There are some log files under /ffp/opt/serviio/log/ that may be of interest to you.
