[SOLVED] Sony TV (wifi) Cannot find server (Lan cable)

Struggled for 2 days...tried every thing (well...I think).
My Sony W670A cannot even see the Serviio Server.

I have following devices home,
- Sony W670A TV. 192.168.0.9 (WIFI)
- Windows XP PC installed Serviio (on Cable . 192.168.0.8) Problem here...can never be found by Sony TV.

Tried:
- Fixed IP.
- Reinstalled Serviio and Java..
- reset factor on Sony TV
- installed 4 other Media servers...same problem

Another windows 8 (on LAN cable) and a Samsung TV (also on LAN Cable) can see/connect to the Serviio without any problem!
just Sony TV (on wifi) cannot connect!

Run another test:
installed serviio on my new windows 8 tablet (wifi), it runs no problem! Sony TV can pick it up in seconds!

was thinking it is the problem with windows XP. but really confused.

Have you checked your windows firewall and any antivirus software to ensure Serviio is allowed full inbound and outbound access?

Turn off any firewall for a few minutes see if it works.

Also post your log file

Can you access the internet from your Sony TV? I assume there is an internet router involved...

Can you access your Serviio server from any other wireless device (Win8 tablet?)?

Did you try to establish a wired connection from your Sony TV?

Re: My Sony TV (wifi) Cannot find Serviio server (Lan cable)

Sorry guys...was on business trips in the last couple of weeks... thanks for the replies.

Yes. I can access internet from my Sony TV
and Yes my sony tv can access my win9 tablet on wifi

tried turning off firewall. still the same
no antivirus running at the time

No log file as the TV doesn't even know the serviio server exists.

ok. the problem is
Sony TV (Wifi) -> win8 tablet serviio server(wifi). OK
Samsung tv (wired) ->windows XP PC serviio server (wired) - OK

Sony TV (Wifi) -> windows XP PC serviio server (wired) . Not OK
Samsung tv (wired) ->win8 tablet serviio server(wifi) - Not Ok

I check my modem/router completely and didn't find any setting separates wifi one with my wired ones.

Log file didn't record anything....

Some routers can restrict the way wireless devices communicate with each other, but this is fine here.

Can you please check if all four IP-addresses are on the same subnet with a matching subnet mask?

Do you have a chance to wire our Sony TV for testing?

Re: My Sony TV (wifi) Cannot find Serviio server (Lan cable)

Clean the server list on sony menu (networks settings) and refresh.
Same on serviio console, clean the device list.

Re: My Sony TV (wifi) Cannot find Serviio server (Lan cable)

You could also make sure that your lappy is not connected via wireless and wired at the same time. Having a host on one network/subnet with two MAC- and IP-Adresses can cause issues.

THX Also!
This helped me with my Sony BDP-S390 Blu-ray Player.
After a Router change I could not anymore see the serviio server on my PC.
Cleaning the serverlist in both devices, PC and Blu-ray player solved the problem!
