Re: Waiting for Serviio 1.3 for Synology NAS

Sorry, I'm having some difficulty getting the new FFmpeg compiled. They've changed something which has broken libass stuff. In the exact same toolchain and library environment on my dev machine FFmpeg 1.1.1 compiles fine, but grab the latest FFmpeg from Git, or even the 2.0 release bundle and they won't build with libass properly. Thing is that I need the newer versions to get libshine properly built in (unlike the semi-bodged patch I had been relying on before). I'm picking away at the problem when I can, but I don't have much free time at the moment.

No worries Patters, RL takes precedence as always :)

I'm sure you'll have it fixed soon enough.

Just signed up to express my gratitude for the work you doing here for the two communities. Thanks!

Re: Waiting for Serviio 1.3 for Synology NAS

Have you guys found that you can't look up tmdb.org movie data any longer with 1.2.1? I've raised a topic here http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13291 where I wonder if the recent dropping of tmdb.org API v2.1 is behind my problem.

If that's the case then I certainly add my +1 for Serviio 1.3.1. I really enjoy using Serviio with my WDTV, but my current metadata hiccups are pretty annoying.

Just spotted this next to the Synology Package on the Serviio download page...

This package is behind the latest release and mostly unsupported.

Is that a gentle prod from Zip? :)

I have the ARMv5 version done but I still need to find time to compile FFmpeg for QorIQ, Intel and ARMv7 CPUs. Synology don't make this easy. Since I can see from my download stats that most users are ARMv5 I may just go ahead and release that build today.

If you finished the ARMv5 version, could you publish this? so we with smaller NAS can use it?

I've added it there until Patters releases the new version. People were repeatedly asking the same questions regarding this package.

Re: Waiting for Serviio 1.3 for Synology NAS

Hi all - the big delay has been caused by the fact that something has changed in FFmpeg's build scripts for libs that link to other libs when cross compiling and my methods no longer worked (for libass in particular). It has been an absolute mission to get working, but I think I have it done now. I've had repeated starts and stops on this over several months, and unfortunately I really haven't had much available time. As before I have compiled with shared libraries, using libraries native to Synology DSM where possible, but having the linking done with a relative path so the system's libs are not interfered with.

Anyway, can someone with a DS213j please extract this archive to a folder and check that ffmpeg launches from the command line? I'm cross-compiling blind for an architecture I don't own (armada370), so I can't test at all. Can you post the screen output please? You need to launch it from inside the extracted folder using a dot slash like this:

Re: Waiting for Serviio 1.3 for Synology NAS

Ok, so here is what I see on my DS213j.

For ./ffmpeg:

  Code:
DiskStation> ./ffmpeg

  libavutil      52. 46.101 / 52. 46.101
  libavcodec     55. 35.100 / 55. 35.100
  libavformat    55. 19.100 / 55. 19.100
  libavdevice    55.  4.100 / 55.  4.100
  libavfilter     3. 88.101 /  3. 88.101
  libswscale      2.  5.101 /  2.  5.101
  libswresample   0. 17.103 /  0. 17.103
  libpostproc    52.  3.100 / 52.  3.100
Hyper fast Audio and Video encoder
usage: ffmpeg [options] [[infile options] -i infile]... {[outfile options] outfile}...

Use -h to get full help or, even better, run 'man ffmpeg'

For ldd ./ffmpeg I get the following error:
  Code:
DiskStation> ldd ./ffmpeg
-sh: ldd: not found

Let me know if I can do anything else...

AND THANKS!

Awesome. Can you re-install my Java package? Then you'll have the ldd command. It gets trashed if you update DSM.

Re: Waiting for Serviio 1.3 for Synology NAS

Hmm. Maybe I didn't put it in the armv7 version because the tool may have been missing in the toolchain.
I remember that it was certainly missing from the Intel one. Ah well, ffmpeg seems to work - it wouldn't run at all if the library dependencies weren't satisfied. I'll get the other builds compiled and build a package...
