Samsung D Series has issues with certain characters

Hi,
fyi: I finally fixed an issue I had for ages and couldn't find out about with debug log. the d series samsung had problems with only one specific video folder, it couldnt have been the amount of files (there were bigger folders) until I finally figured it out yesterday. there were 2 files with a TM character in the file name (perfectly fine for windows). After I had renamed those, the tv can now access and list that folder.
maybe serviio should filter those files out?

Re: Samsung D Series has issues with certain characters

were the files added to the library and only failed to be browsed /played? or were they not even added?

Do you have a filename example?

Re: Samsung D Series has issues with certain characters

the files were added to the library, but once you tried to access the folder containing theses files the tv just jumped up to the highest folder (crashed?). The specific character in the file name was, in this case "™".

oh btw i'm pretty sure that the ominous "WARN [ContentDirectory] Object with id V_L doesn't exist" is caused by this

Where did you see this? Can you post detailed log reproducing this?

Re: Samsung D Series has issues with certain characters

I don't have the specific log anymore, got overwritten, but this was an extract out of the detailed log at the time stamps the TV showed the faulty behavior. As i don't wanna mess around with the configuration anymore, couldn't you just create a file with certain characters in question and debug the problem far better than me? besides the "object doesn't exist" there was nothing else in the log file hinting at the specific problem anyway :-)
