Re: YouTube

Nevemind fixed it.

- Open Console
- go to Presentation
- Go to video > Online > Make sure "Show Category" is displayed.

Everything is fine now, thank you.

Re: YouTube

Hi,
I'm a dad, and I would like to read online video, for my little son, from YouTube Coccole Sonore channel:
https://www.youtube.com/user/CoccoleSonore?feature=watch

Other channels, that i put into serviio configuration, work perfectly using this RSS FEED url:
gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/users/makemagazine/uploads?alt=rss&start-index=1&max-results=50&orderby=published
(http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/users/makemagazine/uploads?alt=rss&start-index=1&max-results=50&orderby=published)

Instead when I use this url:
gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/users/CoccoleSonore/uploads?alt=rss&start-index=1&max-results=50&orderby=viewCount
(http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/users/CoccoleSonore/uploads?alt=rss&start-index=1&max-results=50&orderby=viewCount)

I can view only few videos; a lot o videos cannot be rendered.
In log file, Serviio write many warnings, such as these:

  Code:
2013-10-05 10:50:59,097 WARN  [FeedUpdaterThread] Failed to retrieve online item information for http://r5---sn-fpoq-o52e.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?fexp=939110%2C919111%2C932100%2C932241%2C914062%2C916626%2C924606%2C924616%2C916914%2C929117%2C929121%2C929906%2C929907%2C929922%2C929923%2C929127%2C929129%2C929131%2C929930%2C936403%2C925724%2C925726%2C936310%2C925720%2C925722%2C925718%2C936401%2C925714%2C929917%2C906945%2C929933%2C929935%2C929937%2C929939%2C939602%2C939604%2C912909%2C937102%2C906842%2C913428%2C912715%2C919811%2C939908%2C935704%2C932309%2C913563%2C919373%2C930803%2C908538%2C932211%2C931924%2C938608%2C940501%2C936308%2C939201%2C900816%2C912711%2C916304%2C900391%2C934507%2C907231%2C936312%2C906001&sparams=algorithm%2Cburst%2Cclen%2Ccp%2Cdur%2Cfactor%2Cgcr%2Cgir%2Cid%2Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag%2Clmt%2Csource%2Cupn%2Cexpire&upn=ftXHxjWwesA&factor=1.25&id=46ce02494016dc80&itag=5&expire=1380985437&key=yt1&gcr=it&ipbits=8&source=youtube&cp=U0hXRVlTU19IUUNON19RTVdFOlNZN2doYmFVVzd6&mv=m&mt=1380962991&ms=au&lmt=1366060736189485&sver=3&clen=7011112&gir=yes&ip=62.98.22.234&algorithm=throttle-factor&dur=159.974&burst=40. Re: YouTube

Thank you for your reply.

Why you say that neither of above links work?

I use for example this url and work fine
http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/use ... =published

i tried to use /feeds/api/users/blablabla... in place of /feeds/base/users/blablabla... (and also not using alt=rss param).

so now my url is the same you posted:
http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/user ... =viewCount

Re: YouTube

Yes, your links are OK. my mistake but the videos in your second link are protected by an encoded signature which Serviio does not support. They only play using a browser.

Re: YouTube

@Dan and others new to this plugin.
Easier way to add YouTube sources from your Internet Browser to Serviio is to use ServiiTube - viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7162#p51054
It's an easy to use Chrome extension
Sony Bravia 2010 52NX803 - Sony PS3 - Xbox 360
Serviio running on QNAP NAS 639 Pro - 1.6 Intel Dual Core - 2GB RAM and QNAP NAS 121 - 2Ghz ARM Marvell - 1GB RAM
Console using ServiiDroid for Android, ServiiMetro and ServiiWP for Windows Phone and WebUI for iOS

Re: YouTube

I have installed the Chrome extension. I am able to add the feed using Chrome which creates the addition to the playlist.

The playlist shows up in Serviio console, no problem.

I created a playlist with 2 items, 1 is a LIVE show and the other is taped.

The Playlist shows up in the online folder however the only item that is in the folder is the taped show. The live show is not present.

http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/play ... M2dphYpe-X

Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the advice

Re: YouTube

I'm also trying to watch live youtube feeds with serviio but been unable so far...

For example, football (soccer) matches here in Argentina are broadcast for free via youtube by http://www.youtube.com/user/webfutbolpa ... ture=watch (it's the official "government owned" user).

Right now there's an online feed of a match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZjW7EiD1og

But I can't make it work with serviio. Any help?

Re: YouTube

Hi all, first time poster long time reader...? Yea ok, I'm not sitting in front of my PC, I'm at work... I would like to that zip for the plugin as it's epic and I use a Samsung Blueray player to watch a lot of my YouTube videos on... while Samsung does have a YouTube app, this Internet@Tv and not Samsung's updated application. I've tried everything under the sun to log in to that application and it just does not let me.. so, I've turned to serviio (which I used to replace their HORRIBLE Samsung PC Share Manager). My first venture into a real DLNA as I don't count Plex.

I've gotten this plugin to work... and I'll be honest, it's not that simple at first. It took some reading, a little bit of luck, and a whole lot of creativity. Later I'll post some of the work arounds that have worked for me. Until then... this is driving me nuts... the plugin loads videos backwards when posted to a channels upload. I generally prefer this over playlist as some times playlists are not updated and you never miss anything if you aim to the uploads as opposed to a playlist.

A prime example of this would be Mental Floss which does have a playlist of their list show, but it is only 34 videos long and hasn't been updated in 8 months!!

Compared to their actual upload of 45 episodes minus the 2 previews I would be missing 11 videos. So their playlist kind of sucks... I can make my own playlist, but the result lands me with with a URL that looks like this:

playlist?list=PL_Zc-Sl-ll2jzTB1VmMvlwTVU1j5NGYG9

Yea... there's no format for this.. the 16 character ending doesn't work and I've tried pretty much everything pointed out over at wiki.serviio.org. So making my own playlist from other channel videos in order to get them to play in the correct order is not an option unless I missed something.

I can not use my own playlist, I can not TRUST the channels to update their playlists, so... I'm pretty much stuck pointing to the uploads... which loads the videos backwards - i.e. starts at the latest episode and then runs to the oldest episode. This is not so important on Channels like Mental Floss.. but, and DON'T JUDGE ME!!! It is when it comes to Channels like elmify (HEY! She's funny -_-).. I've noted that when I go to uploads and tell it to sort by oldest to newest I get this in the URL:

?sort=da&view=0&flow=grid

Which I would think I can tag to the end of the URL of

data.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/uuuuuuuuu/uploads?v=2

But I haven't figured out just how to get it work as I've had to manually force Serviio to show 50 videos per 'Display Name'.. as for some unknown reason, regardless of me telling Serviio to get 50 it still only shows 25. So my URL's are a little messy they tend to look like

data.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/MentalFlossVideos/uploads?v=2&start-index=1&max-results=50

No matter how I manipulate the URL I can either get the sort to work. Do I need to add another =? Is it working for others and I'm just missing something??? end results look a bit like blah blah...

uploads?v=2&start-index=1&max-results=50?sort=da&view=0&flow=grid
or
uploads?sort=da&view=0&flow=gridv=2&start-index=1&max-results=50

Re: YouTube

No reply on the sort order... but it hasn't been that long. So.. I'm hopeful. Here are some of the things that I've been working on.

Let's use an example - I like Mental Floss cause it has little surprises. You all should know that if you want to view the uploads the URL we're going to use:

gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/uuuuuuuuu/uploads?v=2

Wherein uuuuuuuuu is the Channel Name - which, ironically is NOT MentalFloss; but rather - MentalFlossVideo
You can confirm this by going to their channel but the URL does not actually show the Channel Name just some weird hash. To get the Channel Name we click on Videos and the URL will change to reveal the actual Channel Name.

The URL, therefore, should look like -

gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/MentalFlossVideo/uploads?v=2

Add this URL and the videos, assuming that you installed the plugin, WILL work. However, I don't know if it is just me or what, but it only pulls 25 videos even though I've set Serviio to "Max. number of feed items to retrieve" to 50.. Which isn't really all that handy. If anyone else has this issue I was able to force it to pull 50 by adding

&start-index=1&max-results=50

to the end of the URL. So the URL that we have now should look like -

gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/MentalFlossVideo/uploads?v=2&start-index=1&max-results=50

If we assume that they have uploaded over 50 videos, we have to add a new list to the Serviio Online Sources tab. It will look almost like the one above but we changed the start-index to START at 51. The first list pulls 50 items, so we have to start the next line at the 51st video. So we end up with-

gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/MentalFlossVideo/uploads?v=2&start-index=51&max-results=50

Playlist are covered elsewhere on this same issue so... not going to do it; however, I have noted that note all Playlist follow the same format and this makes things harder to deal with.. IF the playlist appears to follow the PL style awesome... but I have yet to get my own personal playlists of other channel videos to work as the URL looks like:

youtube.com/watch?v=FiFzpzU7Fx8&list=FLaSrXyIzXIBCdOcDFhc6DHA

Which REALLY does not follow the format that I'm comfortable... but I am a noob. 24 characters, none of which starts with PL so... ok. There are also playlist on channels containing their own videos that do not adhere to the PL format. Mental Floss example of their playlist called List Show:

youtube.com/watch?v=jk5JkNapIdc&list=SPYT7t0pcxEIOFPo75jYgdDGaH8F4lRmjK

Yea... ok, haven't figured out how to get that to work either. I would also like to underscore something someone else pointed out. You can always TEST your URL in the browser. It is a valid RSS feed so if to take your URL - in this case:

gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/MentalFlossVideo/uploads?v=2&start-index=1&max-results=50

and paste it into the browser you will get a result - the RSS feed itself. I've used this to troubleshoot and wow it makes life sooo much easier. Now, can someone tell me if it is possible to sort the order of uploads by adding the line to the URL I mentioned in my previous post and if so... how.

Those none adhering URLs like the personal playlists of other people's video's and or as in the case of Mental Floss' playlist and others - what the correct format is?

Re: YouTube

You are limited by the YouTube API https://developers.google.com/youtube/2 ... for_videos
You can also see the wiki which replicates what you have posted.. http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=you_tube_videos

Re: YouTube

hi

i know this is a lame question and plz excuse me coz i am new here :D

how do i use the plugins? i install in the plugin directory..........and then what? where does the plugin appear in the console? (i am using the free edition serviio)

Installation

Download the plugin
Copy the plugin to the plugins folder (eg to /usr/bin/serviio-0.6.2/plugins on linux)
Configure Serviio with at least one url to an RSS feed. This is done using the serviio console using the Online Sources Tab which is found on the Library tab.
After up to 5 mins the streams should be available to view. On the DLNA client look for a new folder called “Online Sources”

i did all this but nothing happens

thx

Configure Serviio with at least one url to an RSS feed. This is done using the serviio console using the Online Sources Tab which is found on the Library tab.

Plugin by itself does nothing, you need to give Serviio a URL that includes the videos you want to watch.
