Open serviio console, on Status tab, look at the renderer profile list and check what is the profile selected for your Bravia TV.
EDIT: What are your TV screen settings ?

Re: Sony Bravia add subtitles destroy the resolution
i think its a uk model cause i am from greece.
the profile is sony bravia tv 2011.
i tested all the settings to help the image become better, on wolverine hd it helped but stil is not that good and he make all peoples short. The only movie i had no problem was pacific rim cause it was 1900x1020. Wolverine was 1900x798

Could you try to change the profile on serviio console and select "Sony Bravia 2011 US", then press save ?
EDIT : Do you try with the zoom button (Screen format) on remote control ?
