Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Hi all

I opened yesterday in the main support forum the text below. But I guess it is well placeds directly within this thread.

If there is any discrepancies pls delete the other one:

Subj: Twitch plug in with WDTV Gen3?!

Hey Guys

First of all many thanks to your support and developing those great applications.

As I mentioned in the subject line above, I have the serviio software on my PC and want to stream eSports games through my WD TV Live to my TV downstairs.
The problem is that I buyed a WD TV Live of the third generation. That means that we are currently not able to use a customize firmware on it.
If I use the media server the WD shows me the twitch channels but the device said: This format are not supported.

Is anybody out there to have an idea to solve these problem? Otherwise I have to wait for a custom firmware or have to buy an older version of the WD TV device ;)

Thanks and bye,
OMEN

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Hi

Hmm interesting I didn´t know the option to set it..thanks for the hint...
Now I get the message;: There is no media in the current folder.

Yesterday WD gave me the option to choose the stream quality and next came the message format not supported.

Any other ideas? Many thanks for help.

I am a full time SC2 watcher xD
by the way 1080 is too high for streaming I guess? 720 runs smooth but not higher solution....

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

depends on the device. my samsung tv's internal media player handles 1080p30 just fine, it just won't run 1080p60.

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Trying to get this to work with the dreamhack streams and watch it on my Samsung C6700.
My first mistake was to add the dreamhack.tv links, but that obviously doesn't work.
Added http://www.twitch.tv/dreamhack instead and now I have the online folder up and running, but every now and then the files are not played and it's complaining about unsupported format.
If I try again, it will start but only the first few video frames are played and after that only the audio is live.
Any suggestions where to go from here?
(Unfortunatelly I can't test it with VLC as my library is massive and dreamhack would be over before I can try)

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

several things:
1. dreamhack's "live" streams are 720p60. my es6100 struggles with that (may be the bitrate?) and plays audio with stuttering video. maybe "high" is better for you?
2. you need to force refresh (console's context menu) the library entries every other minute because that's about the time that it takes for the tokens that the plugin acquires to expire. that may explain your unsupported format messages.

Thanks for this. Watching live content worked just fine, but is it possible to view past broadcasts with this as well?

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Hi, and thanks for this awesome plugin!

Do I understand correctly that ffmpeg is only used to forward the RTMP stream and does not transcode/modify the data in any way?

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

depends on your profile. if your renderer understands and handles the codecs, ffmpeg is essentially an rtmp client and only forwards data, yes.

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

I have a Olevia LT26HVE with my PS3 hooked up through a component cable. The max resolution the monitor supports is 1080i and im having issues with the edges on streams being cutoff when selecting 720/1080p streams. Any ideas how to fix this? I've already tried playing with the scaling/aspect ratio settings on the monitor and none of it seems to have any affect on fixing the issue.

I have disabled transcoding in the Serviio console. So I suppose ffmpeg just forwards the stream unmodified. Thanks!

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

i've updated the first post with a new version.

new in this is, among a few older, un-published bugfixes, support for the mobile stream api of twitch. this is used by the android and ipad/iphone apps and is sometimes useful if the (default, better quality) rtmp choices are laggy.

V7: mobile streams now also display the source quality

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Hello again :)

With the latest V7 I get this error in Serviio log when opening a stream:
  Code:

V4, however, works fine. What could be wrong here? Can I help debug this? (My OS is Arch Linux.)
