Subtitles stop working in 1.3

Hello
I was using servio 1.2 working great with my sony bravia 40nx700 and now with the 1.3 update the subtitles work intermitent, ie, they only appear like in intervals of 10 sec and just one sentence, then they dont show for more 10 sec.

Any help?

PS. Sory for the english im portuguese.

I tried with a file I have and all worked as expected. Are you on Windows? Did you use some character encoding in the console other than utf-8 ?

Re: Subtitles stop working in 1.3

Dear, I have the same problem as mentioned in this forum, with the 1.2.1 version did not experience this problem, and Realize the ffmpeg update to version mentioned in the link but the problem persists, you think of any other solution for this problem.
Serviio is running on Windows 7 HP 64B.
Serviio is configured as described in this forum.

Greetings to you very carefully. :D

Re: Subtitles stop working in 1.3

Same problem here, but I noticed that it not occur for english subtitles.
I used portuguese brazilian subtitles, and it works perfectly on version 1.2.1. After the upgrade to version 1.3 (and 1.3.1) it stopped working properly, some of them appeared some not.
I't's not a problem with the subtitle files (already checked them), but to test I got a english subtilte and it worked fine.

The solution for me was to downgrade to version 1.2.1 and all my subtitles are working fine again. :)

Let me know if you find a solution for the 1.3 version.

Re: Subtitles stop working in 1.3

So the subtitles file is not in UTF-8 encoding and FFmpeg skipps the lines with illegal characters. Previous FFMpeg didn't do that.

To get around it for your file(s), enter this to the character encoding field in the console

  Code:
iso8859-2

I will try to make it more error prone for future.

Re: Subtitles stop working in 1.3

Hi, I've tested a lot of codes, and the one that works with brazillian portuguese subtitles is: iso8859-1

It shows all the characters, including ç, ê, é, etc.

Mannnnn, this solution is AMAZING!!! I'm also from brazil, and this was the only solution I've found to work with our subtitles in a Sony Bravia tv (nx655).

Thank you to share this solution. For everyone else with pt-br (brazil/brazilian) subtitles, please change the Subtitle character encoding (inside Delivery/Subtitles tab) to iso8859-1

Thanks! Muito obrigado! Valeu! hehe

Re: Subtitles stop working in 1.3

Hi everyone,

I've changed character encoding to iso8859-1 in order to play videos with subtitles in pt-br (portuguese/brazil) but I'm still having the same problem mentioned above. Serviio doesn't recognize the ".srt" files. When I watch those same movies/series locally in VLC or Quicktime I can choose my pt-br subtitles and they work fine. However, when I try to use Serviio I can stream those movies but the pt-br subtitles doesn't work.

My TV is a SAMSUNG UN40FN5500 and I'm using Serviio 1.4.1.2 on a Mac with MacOS 10.9.3. They are connected with "Generic DLNA Profile". I tried to use "Samsung TV / Player (E/F - Series)" profile but the problem get worse. On that profile, my TV can't connect on Serviio.

I'll be very please if anyone can help me with this issue...
