Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

I got myself a 470 Pro, so will try to give the Qnap users some love :-)

As a start, I built static ffmpeg for Intel (based on sources from serviio.org - the same as the Windows / Mac version), try it out here: http://download.serviio.org/temp/qnap/x86/ffmpeg

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

What!? This is the best news yet, I'm currently doin my best to maintain the package but my compiling skills are poor. N8ing4le (known as Swoop in this forum) who maintains the web ui helps users make the latest ffmpeg here - http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=252&t=84702, I get the ARM version from csholmq.

Can you build the latest ffmpeg? the QNAP Serviio forum is full of users trying their hand compiling latest ffmpeg from git using Swoops script - https://gist.github.com/SwoopX/5335016# ... _ffmpeg-sh

I'm just waiting for the current beta to finish to release a QPKG. Qnap QPKG development kit can be found here - http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=36132

You've a good choice in choosing QNAP! :D

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

Currently I would rather give the Ffmpeg the other distros are using.

hoping to make it a cidtomizable build job so that I can release a new one without problems. Hopefully I will be able to pick up the whole package atsome point too, but probably only after the new console, which migh t be some time.

in the meantime thanks for the great job

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

hi

i have a 470 and have installed Serviio and am very happy with it and have no issues to speak of.

i bought the pro licence but it will not install. the page on the serviio website showing how to install the licence has a different look than the page on my console.

when i click load new licence and browse to the location where licence is stored, it says new data loaded but it does not update to pro version.

i have restarted NAS

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

I'm going to be uploading the latest build of Serviio QPKG very soon, my motherboard on my PC died on me.

Theres three ways to upload the licence (its a .lic file when you buy the Pro licenc)

1: Remote access with windows console
You would simple have to download the new Windows Serviio v1.4.1 from http://www.serviio.org/download
Only install the console, then edit C:\Program Files\Serviio\bin\ServiioConsole.exe.vmoptions with a text editor by adding:
  Code:
-Dserviio.remoteHost=XXX.XXX.X.XXX
Replacing XXX.XXX.X.XXX with the IP Address your Serviio server

2: Use your Android phone
Use ServiiDroid for Android which is v1.4.1 compatible - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... erviidroid

3: Install the latest unofficial web ui
http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=phpwebui

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

Hello

I have a QNAP TS-220 with 4.0.7 firmware (dated 2014/4/12). I installed JRE directly from QNAP's App Center ("JRE_ARM 7.0.45"). No issue. Doing a command line "java -version" and "env" both show the setup seems ok:

  Code:
[~] # java -version
java version "1.7.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Embedded Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_45-b15, headless)
Java HotSpot (TM) Embedded Client VM (build 24.45-b08, mixed mode)
[~] # env
.....
JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/jre
.....

I downloaded
Serviio_1.4.1.2-R1_arm-x19.qpkg
from this forum, tried to install manually inside QNAP's "App Center", and I got the following error:

  Code:
Serviio 1.4.1.2-R1 installation failed.  The following QPKG must be installed and enabled: JRE >= 6.

What is not working here???

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

Please install Java for ARM the manual method and not from the QNAP's App Centre. This JRE package is renamed wrongly and has been raised.

Followthis guide here - http://advancedhomeserver.com/serviio/
Download Java JRE QPKG installer here - http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=163&t=45963
Download ARMv5 Linux - Headless EABI, SoftFP ABI, Little Endian from here - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/ ... index.html

Dont rename any files and should look like this - http://advancedhomeserver.files.wordpre ... viio08.jpg

This way you also have the latest Java installed.
Then run the JRE QPKG to install Java and finally install Serviio QPKG

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

The update is renamed wrong. The manual method works fine. This way it's the latest jre. Follow the previous post - viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5324&p=91520#p91180

I've installed JRE version 7 Update 55 by the JRE QPKG installer with the manual method and now serviio does work. In my qnap i can see it as a v6 version, but i think it's only a "number" issue. Is there a way to insall jre v8 by manual method and jre qpkg installer, please?
If i put the v8 file in Public folder, i think it won't install it...will it?
Thank you!

EDIT: after reboot, it doesn't work!! Why???

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.4 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

Restart the Serviio QPKG from app centre. I think the start script has issues, so disable and enable from app centre

The package is titled v6, even though you have v7 installed

It seems to work now. I'll try to reboot. So, does it mean that I cannot install jre update from qnap app center?
Now i've installed jre v7 (titled v6), if I download v8 and change the filename as the v7 one, i can install it manually, but i see the error GUI on the top of the page... Have I to keep the jre v7 installed forever?
Thank you very much!

EDIT: the same issue: after reboot, it doesn't work!! If i install v7 titles v6 with manual method, it works; then i reboot and i get the 404 error... and if i turn off and then on serviio from app center, it's the same! Can you help me please?
I used serviio for months without any matter (but i rember install process was very tricky...)!
