Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

you could let us have a look at a detailed log for starters. make sure to overwrite the ffmpeg.exe from the post linked from OP again.

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Ok so, I can see the twitch files within the folder, each file for the different quality. When I open any of them, the screen is just black. Local files work fine.

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

that log doesn't say much, just that it seems to extract the urls fine. the problem may be rooted in your transcoding settings or profile, and lacking a tv of that series, i can't help you to set that up. do you have an alternative device like a phone/tablet with a upnp capable video player to try this out on?

BTW, I use a Sony Bravia TV with the "Sony Bravia 2013" profile, and twitch.tv streams work fine without transcoding.

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

I have tried all profiles with transcoding on and off. I tried using VLC as you said but it just crashes whenever i try...

The files are visible but just a black screen when i open them. Local files work fine :\

i think vlc's upnp support may be broken in the 2.x versions... try a 1.x version

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Ok, tested on VLC on my mobile and it works perfectly.

So whats wrong with my TV! It is a KDL-40W600B model (Serviio sees the device name) and is a 2013 series. When selecting the "Sony Bravia TV(2013)" profile, I can connect, view, and play local files. I can view the Twitch files but they don't actually play (they open but simply black screen & no audio - no errors in the log or anything obvious pertaining to this).

Is it a problem with the plugins interaction with this model or perhaps the TV renderer? Shouldn't transcoding fix rendering issues?

:(

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

in all likelihood, it shouldn't need transcoding anyway because most modern tvs handle h264 and mp3/aac just fine. you could post an entire debug log for this process:

1. turn on serviio
2. hit force refresh in serviio console/library/online
3. wait a minute or so until this has been processed
4. try to view the stream from your tv

the earlier log didn't show any problems. you can just go through the log and remove all lines containing a ".mkv", or private data, if you don't want to post those parts.

Ok, log should show everything from starting the server, through the process you mentioned, and stopping it. I don't know if there is any "private" data :S

Thanks for your help Jules!

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Hello Jules,

first of all thanks for your time and support of your great plugin, which I'm unfortunately having a little problem with. I only found it on a sidenote in this thread.

I'm running a twitch stream on the ps3 and the audio is fine, but the video stops for about two seconds, then it's super fast forward a second. Rinse and repeat. This does occur on all quality settings.

This am having absolutely no problems using the serviio stream in highest quality in VLC.

Log: http://pastebin.com/8p3hha3e
The oddone stream is not what i am streaming, i guess it's just offline. I'm streaming riotgames.

Any idea?

that really doesn't show any issues. i'm afraid that i unfortunately know too little about transcoding because all of my players play everything (except FLAC) fine. i suggest you take a look at config/profiles.xml which governs what formats are being transcoded for which devices, and try to figure out how to force h264 into being transcoded. it's possible that twitch's august encoding change is producing video streams that are incompatible with your tv's media player's understanding of what an h264 stream is supposed to look like.
i'm sorry, but i can't think of any other way of attacking your issue.

i think multiple people have mentioned that in the past, and iirc it was usually in context with PS3s. (un?)fortunately i don't have one and thus can't provide you with any insight, but it seems like the media player is choking on something in the video data. this doesn't occur for local data, i suppose? might be the same issue as above, now that i think of it...

Yep. Local data works fine. The youtube plugin works fine, too. Haven't tested any other.

I'd be happy if i could contribute to the solution to this by providing any log data or anything...

Btw i'm using that modified ffmpeg.exe (26mb), because any other wouldn't even show the streams to choose from. Maybe we need an updated modified build?

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

first thing to try is to force transcoding, because possibly the ps3's media player doesn't like the verbatim stream coming from twitch. i don't think at this point that a modified ffmpeg will help anything (besides the changes necessary to even run streams that you already have).

Re: Twitch.tv/Justin.tv

Hey guys,

I have a Sony KDL-40W605B and Serviio 1.4.1.2
Tried with transcoding and without it. Tried it with all the ffmpeg files but could not get it to work.
He finds the streams but I get a blackscreen.
