library updateing

OS 10.10.2 yosemite
When i add files serviio updates the library. When I have watched an episode i delete it from within the folder but serviio does not remove it from it`s library.
I have both boxes ticked within library, keep library up to date and search for updates of currently shared files. the latter of which serviio does not seem to be doing.
I have looked i FAQ and quite a few post`s but cant seem to find an answer.

Re: library updateing

Can you confirm the file is still there by looking in mediabrowser? Just to make sure it's not cached somewhere.

Re: library updateing

Nothing in media browser. I am removing episodes from within the folder.
If a folder contains 20 episodes and i have watched 10 and then delete 10 there is only ten left to watch.
But when i open serviio on the tv it is still listing all 20 even after a forced refresh and a re boot.
If i try to load any of the 1 to 10 serviio tells me there is no file and goes to episode 11 and plays it.
Serviio knows the file has gone but it hangs on to the image.

Re: library updateing

are the files directly in the root of your shared folder?

What folder do you share and what is the file path of the removed file?

Re: library updateing

yes in root.
mackintosh HD, users, movies, supernatural.
Movies is shared as is supernatural.
Supernatural is a folder within the movies folder which contains the series 1- 20.
Have also found if i rename an episode in a file serviio keeps both but only the renamed is playable.
I can add to the movies folder or supernatural folder no problem and play is ok, it`s just when i delete something serviio keeps the image.

Re: library updateing

New information. new files show instantly but when you delete a file or movie serviio does not do it instantly there seems to delay as it is now updated a day later and all images have gone of the deleted files.

Re: library updateing

Sorry to say but i have another issue with this version. The server does not always load i have to go int the terminal and give the command to stop it them the command to start it.
giving the single command to start does not work i have found i need to do both before the sever shows itself.
Not liking this version very much so fare.

Re: library updateing

So let's say you have this sturucture:

  Code:
/user/movies/series_1/episode_1.avi

you should only share (for example)

  Code:
/user/movies

and not both

  Code:
/user/movies
/user/movies/series_1

Actually, Serviio will not allow you to share them like this (both parent and child folder).

Then if you remove the folder you actually share in the console (eg /user/movies), it will not register the delete event, as Serviio assumes it's only a remote drive being disconnected.

Re: library updateing

Updating, at first only user/movies was shared, library would not update but when i shared series 1 it will update but only on a delayed time.
Server, when i open the console from applications the serviio symbol appears in the task bar but that is all. To get the main window to load i have to stop the server and restart it in the terminal. This is intermittent.

For the console, try to right-click on the dock icon and select Open console window.

Re: library updateing

Also, can you enable detailed logging and post the log here after adding a file to a shared folder?

Re: library updateing

it is there, otherwise you'd not be able to run it.

  Code:
/Library/Application Support/Serviio

Re: library updateing

It certainly is not there which is strange. I can send you a screen shot of it if you like.
if i do a search within Application Support it takes me to applications and the console emblem for serviio.
I have totally removed serviio and re installed it. Lets see if it functions ok, but still not listing in Application Support.

Re: library updateing

you have to open terminal application and

  Code:
cd /Library/Application\ Support
ls -al

It should list Serviio among others. Then

  Code:
cd Serviio/config

Maybe in your Finder it shows your application support (under your User), and not the system one (under root folder)
